@PinkSpider

flash player is still outdated, videos from tudou.com cant be watched
and tests from http://www.chemgapedia.de/vsengine/info/en/help/requirements/flash.html
http://www.adobe.com/fr/software/flash/about/
http://www.adobe.com/swf/software/flash/about/flashAbout_info_small.swf
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
are failing too

but its not a major problem : flash is no longer supported by adobe and html5 is going to replace it entirely

10 to go to settings, 20 to go back to main menu
15 to go to eshop, 2 to go back to main menu
goong to downloads take nearly 1 or 2 secs, going back to main menu take the same 1-2 secs

Re: Chasing Aurora Update Now Available on Wii U eShop

adrenochrome

@klautrec : thanks for your answer, i'll try this trick

i have another question :

  • into the gamepad settings there's an option to blank the screen
  • into the download manager there's an option to switch off the wiiu at end of the downloads
is there a way to get both at the same time ? (screen blanking & switch off when finished)

Re: Nintendo Is Not Working On Fix For Wii U's Slow OS

adrenochrome

@ UnseatingKDawg
it's not a matter of game playing, look at this scenario :
going to settings -> wait 30sec, going back to main menu -> wait 30sec, launch browser -> wait 30sec, going back to main menu -> wait 30sec, going to eshop -> wait 30sec, going back to main menu -> wait 30sec

what would you say if you had to wait 30sec on your laptop before going to settings or before launching a web browser ?
it sound evident that the wii-u can do better

when you know exactly what you want to do, you can reduce the amount of 30sec waits, but when exploring everything -eg : the first time you unbox your wiiu- some could be easily shocked

Re: The Cave On Wii U Is "Pretty Much" Like Other Versions

adrenochrome

@AlphaIchimoru
it's not a matter of xbox/playstation being wrong, it's a matter of lazy ports :
ok this time the port was fine-tuned (opposed to batman and cullofduty), but the WiiU regarding his capacities diserve something better than xbox/playstation, if not, then what would be the interest of the WiiU ?

Re: Unepic Adventuring Onto Wii U eShop in 2013

adrenochrome

despite being a huge fan of indie eshop content i wont get this game if his content is denatured.
Nintendo did setup a restrictive systeme for mature contents so they should allow indie content to use it instead of trying to censor the products

Re: Give Your Wii U A Retro Makeover With This NES Skin

adrenochrome

@ rogerwilco : so there's no adhesive substance on it ? it's sticking on it's own because of his shape (like original wiimote protections) ?

ok, found the info :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yODjl6tHtJQ
http://www.decalgirl.com/info/faq.htm

it's not at all like a thin wiimote protection, it's more some kind of gummy stickers :/
it must be really difficult to cover perfectly the corners of the gamepad with this kind of sticker

Re: Annoyed About Age Restrictions On The Euro Wii U eShop? Blame Germany

adrenochrome

@ Bluezealand : i perfectly understand what you are explaining but i was thinking that Nintendo did use some kind of age verification (according to the undeletable parental control channel)

If all what you say is exact, using a profile of a 3 year old child i will be able to download(but not to play) zombiu between 23h and 03h ?
i completely agree that it's not a German specific problem, but Nintendo did a really toughtless implementation of the european laws

Re: Feature: EU Wii U Launch Day - Live!

adrenochrome

going to the FNAC (a french vendor) right now, usually they close their doors at 19h30, but today is a special day : i will be able to enter the shop after 19h30 (with my preorder paper) to get my wiiu

Re: Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition Dogged By Performance Issues

adrenochrome

it seems to be a real problem is both call of duty and batman suffer from bad frame rate.... i cant imagine the developpers being aware of this an releasing bugged games.
Let's hope it's only a common problem from the system and that it will be fixed by a forthcoming sytem update

anyone know what eurogamer is using to count fps in cod and batman ? (both really have such option avaible in settings menus from the public versions ?)

Re: Call of Duty Black Ops II Suffers From Reduced Frame Rate On Wii U

adrenochrome

it seems to be the perfect case to see the first online update/patch, let's see how long it will take for activision to do it (it seems other consoles already have several updates)

since it's a very early game on wiiu there may be potential troubles :
-if fps display is in game it may be computed wrongly (my eyes are not accurate enough to notice fps differences in eurogamer video comparisons)
-eurogamer says other console have some barely noticable tearing which the wiiu dont, perhaps some internal settings are not perfectly tweaked yet (vsync?)

Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U

adrenochrome

this page is more natural to access while browsing Nintendo website
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_external_storage.jsp?menu=how_to&submenu=wup-usb-ht-connect
and illustrate a single plug
for me Q&A is what i read only if i run into troubles
be sure my insistence is nothing against you but i only want to reassure the numerous worried Nintendo fans from the current comments

(the above page has another important warning, imho, about not to power off WiiU or external drive while writing data)

Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U

adrenochrome

@zipmon, thanks

according to #12, Nintendo tell us to try our drives as is, and if it dont work with 'i'-cable, only then, try a 'y'-one
so Wii-U really support all usb drives, that's really a good news !
maybe this article should be a bit less "directive" ( "for a USB drive to work" is too strong and not really accurate : i cant even work without the enumerated conditions )

Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U

adrenochrome

@Zipmon : could you tell the source of the informations about power supply in this article (why no picture of this info ?) ?
because it seems you frightened a lot of non-tech people
i really doubt Nintendo said the external power supply or the y-cable is mandatory for any 2.5" usb drive.
The Wii-U is advertised as supporting external usb drives -not a specific subset of them- and most of [250-750]gb current drives dont need that(i've the same drive as on your picture and it was sold with a single "I" usb cable).
Advising a good power source is a thing but it's only an advice

Re: Guide: Using USB Storage with the Wii U

adrenochrome

why Y-cable ? with computers, Y cable is requiered for some very old disks using obscene amount of power, or with very old laptops which didnt provide enough power through usb.
The original wii always delivered enough power for any modern 2.5" disk through a a single usb plug.
So, the Wii-U is delivering less power (than original wii) on usb plugs like a very old laptop ?

external power adaptors sucks : you need one more power plug and you need to to not forget to switch the disk on/off by hand if you dont want to shorten his life

Re: Wii U GamePad Can Play Assassin's Creed 3 in 3D

adrenochrome

@BJQ1972 :
inficolor=anaglyph=low resources eating (it's only a kind of 3d filter)

polarised=stereoscopic=high resources eating (typically you have to render the whole screen 2x), i doudbt the wiiu has enough power to render high quality gfx in full hd with such kind of 3d technology

Re: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Download Will Be Cheaper Than Retail

adrenochrome

@akabenjy
thats because 3DS only support FAT and not exFAT (default factory format for SDXC cards)
that's a good news, it mean that WII-U will, more than probably, support SDHC/SDXC
now the question is : will WII-U support a filesystem allowing >4GB files ? ntfs, ext, exfat, proprietary one ?
if not, perhaps the games files are sliced in parts under the filesystem limit (like on video-dvd or tricky usb-loaders using fat32)
