Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

WizardJ

@Herbalchunk1242 - I’m not sure how much more optimization you’ll see. YMMV. My Switch (non OLED), is a year old. While sometimes “chugging” or a “clunky” feel; I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s bandwidth specific, more than the hardware in its’ entirety. We all know how long in the tooth the hardware is. I’d happily pay for a “Switch Pro” (newer hardware please!!), without it necessarily being a “new” console.

Sadly, not sure how much more optimization they can bring for a “smoother” network experience. I say this because, while I mostly play in offline mode (like, not connected to the internet), certain software is still choppy, etc. i wish it was a case of “lag”; I have decent speeds where I’m at, where every device, simultaneously, is fine. The Switch lags without internet, lags with it :,(

Re: Sports Story Version 1.0.3 Announced, Here's What To Expect

WizardJ

Oh man… the original Game Dev Story on my iPhone 3GS lol.. have come a long way with the genre.. I picked this up, after reading some positive reviews on steam, but am disappointed. Not sure what I expected, having not played Golf Story (or any of their others, if any), but rpg-“ish”, maybe not enough? Not sure where the disconnect is there (to be fair, I stopped playing after the first hour or so lol..), and perhaps I haven’t seen all the mechanics/what this game has to offer.. but I wasn’t feeling it. Feeling “fetchy” in nature, and perhaps an afterthought, trying to use filler to plug holes in a sinking boat. Like others have said - the dialogue is decent (a little too “cheery” for my tastes), but I can recognize talented writing/full-hearted effort. I didn’t have performance issues much (playing docked, saved to internal storage), except a few boundary collision problems. Nothing game breaking.
With everything said, knowing what I know now, full price? Not for me. Sale, 50% off? Maybe.. but watch/read some reviews first, more than just thumbs ups

Re: Video: You Can Improve Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Performance Yourself

@Astral-Grain
Little too many participation awards it seems.. sadly, I don’t recall saying there was any benefit. Alas, there are exceptions to every rule; albeit fallen on deaf ears - the majority is what affects (hence the “majority” having issues).
Tell us you’re easily triggered, without telling us you’re easily triggered lol.. the “sensitivity” anymore is ludacris. You can’t truly sit here and play ignorance is bliss all your life, can you? My point stands… can’t believe an entire generation, having the benefit of growing up with more technology than those before them, are this ignorant when it comes to these kinds of things

Re: Video: You Can Improve Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Performance Yourself

WizardJ

@Astral-Grain for one, the “majority” blatantly state, “shutting down yields no benefits compared to sleep” mode for one. Considering you’d think the “general consensus”, having grew up with technology in general, “should” realize the benefits of shutting down.
Besides the point, that was just yet another example.
As if I’d expect a conversation with a generation who thought it was cool to eat tide pods, to go anywhere.

Re: Random: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Body-Horror Glitches Are Going Viral

WizardJ

Like I said in the other simile story/article about this - again… idk WTF ARE YALL DOING.. do millennials really fail at life this much (yes, yes they do, for all those who can’t color in the lines). Albeit my switch is only a year old (maybe my thermal paste is working; I’ve heard it can cake up in a couple years pretty bad).

I have over 70 hours into Scarlet. I’ve only had ONE glitch, and that’s where Koraidon will get “stuck” in pose sliding down the mountain, clips out a little bit, and I get reset a few seconds later. Besides the OCCASIONAL (yes, only once in a while for me) frame drop (and not even in the single digits like many), I have not had any bugs/glitches.
Maybe it’s because I have Scarlet (I noticed an awfully lot of these videos were Violet users; but it’s also the more popular game, so not sure correlation there). Maybe because it’s I have it installed to my internal storage instead of SD card. Maybe because I NEVER play multiplayer? Besides those things, not sure what I could be doing differently (maybe not being a millennial is all it took lol )
Growing up with a Coleco, Sega-16, NES - sure, I haven’t gotten any of these glitches… but y’all spoiled A F lol

Re: Random: The Funniest Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Glitches We've Seen So Far

WizardJ

Again… idk wtf what you people are doing…. But I’ve only gotten one glitch, and that’s where my legendary clips (doesn’t even fall through), sliding down a hill, and it “resets” my position a few seconds later. I have over 70 hours in Pokémon, and can’t get any of these.
Like I said in a previous comment - my switch is only a year old (thermal paste might actually be better; or at least exist lol). I also have the digital version saved to my internal storage.
I play solo (never MP); maybe they’re syncing issues between two players? No idea.

First consoles were NES, Sega, even a coleco - again idk what y’all doin’ to fuc*ing break your games lol, but an occasional (yes, occasional) dip in frames for me, and the glitches I don’t seem to run into -
Y’all just spoiled af lol

Re: Random: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Trainers Discover Legendary BLJ Glitch

WizardJ

Idk what y’all doing for all these bugs/glitches lol..
Couple (obvious, sorry) tips for everyone - if docked, don’t just keep putting your Switch “to sleep”. Do a proper power cycle, clear out all that ram(nvram? Idek lol). For those (like me) who get everything digital, try moving it to your system memory instead (albeit not much, I think I remember them saying it was like a 10% transfer speed; 100mbps compared to 90mbps on the SD card - I think I even remember reading that the system memory was technically a tad faster than physical carts, but I’m not 100% on that one).
I’ve had the occasional “hiccup” with a slight lag once in a while, but nothing serious like all these videos I’m seeing. Not even close.

Re: Sonic Team Listening To Frontiers Feedback, Wants To Take Series To "Greater Heights"

WizardJ

@LXP8
Why is that so hard to believe? How many games in Sonic’s franchise, that the levels were called “zones”? ( Green zone, second zone, whatever zone, etc).
So the fact that this is an “open world” game, and words coupled together for its literal meaning; not sure why that’s A - surprising, B - how that’s a “rip-off” of Zelda, when you look at it for what it really is.
