Yaaaaawwwn there is nothing I want from the corpse puppet that is modern squeanix. All the talent fled and formed other studios and it shows.
Theonly thing they have are hostages, ie ip licenses.
Modern squenix you really want to make great games for the switch? Give the chrono trigger license to monolithsoft, and then walk away, and let REAL golden age squaresoft show you how its done.
@Turbo857 There is a weapon that doesnt break. And i use it soley to break ore and boxes. The sacrilege XD
There is really no point to a blacksmith and no need to get rid of the weapon durability. And they already did make it last longer. Its all in how you play.
Kill lots of monsters and they come back stronger and upgrade monsters and chests throughout the world. I have an inventory full of powerful weapons, bows and sheilds that take forever to break.
And if you log them in the compendium you can find a specific kind of weapon you want whenever you like. Way better than saving broken weapons in your inventory to go get them repaired. That would make it like other games where the weapon durability is actually an annoyance.
LoZ didnt become iconic because link had a cool character design with the 'super cool' keebler elf hat.
The goofy keebler elf hat became iconic because it was on the face of an amazing game series.
Besides, it actually looks pretty good in botw. The increased fidelity and physics certainly didnt hurt it. Both the oot style (mines shadow links, i dont do amiibo) and og style with tunic of the wild.
To all the people complaining about the rain, no its not bad game design. Detox the conditioning and learned heplesness of gamerbrain syndrome programmed into you from the last decade plus of terrible game design from the worst generation and start thinking again.
There is like half a dozen ways to get up a mountain when its raining, plenty of which dont include climbing at all and can be busted out in some variation or another almost anywhere or anytime.
Same thing for lighting a fire.
Oh its raining the woods getting wet so you cant light it? Well what would you do in real life? Would you just sit there like a hepless moron?
Todays gamers would. Your dissapointed predecessors, would not.
Breath of the wild IS the return of the traditional Zelda outing.
Probably the most exciting aspect of BOTW is the fact that, despite the intrinsic nature of its world design making it the strongest core Zelda game in decades, and being an engrossing, immersing, addictive experience... Its still full of shortcomings to fix... With priority number one being dungeons.
BOTW isn't some lofty peak. Its the rock bottom rock solid foundation of the future, ready to be built upon.
At the very least, all you folks who enjoyed the offshoot path the series took when it went 3d, owe those of us who have been waiting for something like breath of the wild to return with modern technology 15 years. Its our turn now. And we have waited a long long time.

Re: Video: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Player Discovers A New Way To Chart The Oceans, Fast
Its a bit trickier, but you can do this easy enough with any two handed weapon
Re: Weirdness: You Can Play and Win in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Without Touching the Controller
Disgusting.
Kids played mario kart just fine in the 90's.
Stupid games for an increasingly stupid generation.
Now jingle key design is no longer a metaphor.

Re: Aonuma Says That Open World Is Here to Stay in Zelda Games
Thank Glob for this. Zelda finally returning to its roots and actually being Zelda again, instead of a zelda themed crystalis.
Finally recovering from the detour the series took when it went 3d.
Sorry whiners, this IS real zelda, and besides, you owe us twenty years, so deal with it.

Lol, the hat NEVER looked cool.

Skyward Sword for me.
