@ferthepoet It does appear that way on the surface, since you can't unlink a NNID from a console on your own (yet). However, it's completely possible to get it unlinked, which frees up your ID and lets you log in on another system. It's not the most convenient thing in the world, but it is a thing that can be done if needed.
@ferthepoet Not really. Since it's an actual account on Wii U, and not games tied to a hardware ID (like on 3DS), they have no issue un-linking an account from a system (whether a system was lost/stolen, or you got a new unit). Like I said earlier, the only real issue on Wii U is that you can't unlink an account from a console yourself (at the moment). It's a total 180 from the old Wii/DSi "your digital games are locked to ONE machine forever" days. Thanks to that, I have no issues buying digital content on Wii U- since I know I WILL be able to get my games on a new system. They do need to get this all in place on 3DS as soon as possible, though.
I don't get this thought that Wii U eShop purchases aren't tied to the Nintendo Network ID. If you want to get a new Wii U and have all your digital purchases available, it's totally possible to get your NNID unlinked from the old machine and log in on the new one. The real issue is that you can't unlink the account yourself. For example, my younger brother got a basic set Wii U last year, and he wanted to upgrade to the deluxe a few months ago. He got the new system, called up Nintendo, they helped unlink the account from the old unit, and he just logged in with his NNID on the new unit. Everything he bought on the eShop, his friend list, and all Miiverse data were immediately available on the new system. If that's not an account, then neither is any other account you've ever created. 3DS still needs work, of course, but it wasn't initially designed for the NNID, so that's to be expected.
I said this when the original game released, and I'll say it now: use the DS thumb stylus (the one that originally came with Metroid Prime: Hunters). I don't like playing these games all that much with a traditional stylus, but they're a really great time with that accessory (especially since I'm left-handed).
Nice to know they're adding some value to the game. If it was called "Deluxe", but just an uprezzed port, I'd take issue with that. I'm looking forward to the new levels, especially after how much I liked the DLC for the 3DS game.
@pntjr I wish my GameStop was doing a midnight launch. It's all part of the launch experience. Hanging out with other fans of the things you love, there's nothing quite like it!
@WhiteKnight If you've already got a PS3, why get a whole new system when the HDD is upgradeable? I put a 500GB HDD into my old 80GB fatty model, and that only took $50 and a little time to backup and restore the data.
With the Wii U, having the data on an external just makes that process easier, since it'll literally be copy and paste the data onto a larger disk through my PC if I ever decide to upgrade to more storage than I've currently got on hand.
@Miroku As someone who never played Mole Mania on the GB originally, I have to say that I really adore this game! I was a bit unsure if I was gonna get it, but I bit the bullet and downloaded it. Now it's one of my favorite GB games.
I was already excited by the idea of a sequel to a main Pokémon game, but now I'm starting to feel the hype set in. I'm really looking forward to these!
Colors! 3D is a really nice piece of software. Some of the works that people have already created are impressive! The fact that the app can export creations at 1600x900 resolution to the SD card makes this a serious, fully featured art creation tool. The online gallery is nice, too- you can favorite, save, and comment on other people's pieces.
Until E3 begins, we won't know for certain how powerful this machine really is. With so many bits of info from various named devs (Ubisoft, Gearbox, etc) stating otherwise, though, it's hard to take the word of a couple of anonymous individuals from an unknown "major developer".
Stylus controls? Nah. Button controls? Nope. Using the DS thumb stylus in place of the regular stylus= the perfect way to play KI: Uprising! You get the accuracy of the stylus controls, while still supporting the system with both hands. Being a left-handed player, it's an excellent accessory to have (not to mention it's a MUCH more comfortable way to play!).

Re: The 3DS Proves to Be a Popular Music Player in Japan
Would I use it for music? I have this very app on my import 3DS LL, and I have purchased plenty of music from RecoChoku already!
Re: Review: One Piece Unlimited World Red (Wii U)
@WindWakerLink It's actually 11GB on Wii U, but it's still a pretty huge game, storage-wise.
Re: Review: Mario Golf: World Tour (3DS)
@datamonkey The price disparity is one thing, but 3DS eShop games ARE fully tied to Nintendo Network IDs now.
As for Mario Golf, I'm totally stoked to pick this title up!
Re: Video: What Could The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Look Like In HD?
@MrGawain As a fellow lefty, I played the game with no issue. I actually really enjoy the controls in Skyward Sword.
Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for January
If I didn't already have Spin Six, I'd get it in a heartbeat. I lost so many hours of my life to that game, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Retail Downloads Account For 5% of Sales in Japan
@Hardy83 But saves DO transfer between 3DS systems; they won't go from DSi to 3DS, though.

Re: Review: Bomb Monkey (3DS eShop)
I'm having a great time with the game. It's a time waster, sure, but it's a great one!
Re: Demiurge Studios Handling Aliens: Colonial Marines Wii U
@Sony_70 You did see the part about how 80% of the development is being done by Gearbox in-house, right?
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2012 (North America)
@G4L Probably because the SNES original is on the disc for the Wii game "The Forgotten Sands".
Re: Adventure Time on DS to be Released 'Late Fall'
I really hope this turns out great. Since WayForward and Pendleton Ward are collaborating on it, I'm pretty excited!
Re: Europe, What Do You Make Of Your Beat the Beat Box Art?
I just don't get the decision to change it. The DS game used the 'normal' style logo in Europe, so why change it for the Wii game?
Re: Nintendo Still Envisions Selling Retail Games Digitally
While I wouldn't use this option too much, I would probably get Animal Crossing digitally, just to be able to carry it around with me at all times.
