I say...buy Endless Ocean.
If you've got money to burn on a fish sim to relax...buy Endless Ocean.
It's bigger. It's better. And you got custom soundtracks for more relaxation. Buy Endless Ocean.
And also, if you're even reading this review...buy Endless Ocean.

^ Nifty piece of trivia, Eltigro! And what makes it even more priceless is that you did it on an original turbopad and turbo grafx. As most people will agree, nothing comes close to having the real thing...even if Nintendo's VC delivers a pretty convenient and functional package.

(Hey Eltigro, I like your userpic by the way...Johnny Turbo put me in high gear!!)

Thomas, with all due respect... Bomberman 64 is one of the worst ones. I do hope, for the others who may not have caught the sarcasm, that it was indeed sarcasm.

Oh and I am not being sarcastic.

Re: Psychosis

Seems a lot like R-Type (which is on VC already) with the way it scrolls and moves, with a mild touch of Final Mission (not on VC yet) with those acolyte pods around you...

but why not just get R-Type?

Re: WiiWare Focus: Interview with Nnooo (Pop)

Steviis_Father

The sad thing is? Despite the alloted budget that has been set aside by Nnooo to make this game, there's a danger for simple games of this nature to pop up right after- it's only a matter of time 'til a free flash game pops up on the net that allows the controls to be mapped to the Wii remote, and you can play it for free. And what's great for us gamers, but even sadder for them, is that you don't have to pay a cent to play a game like this. Don't tell me having your remote's speaker used makes this purchase worth it. Who're you kidding? Besides, so many webgames are already available, and have their controls mapped fine to the Wii remote, and using the internet channel (500 points mind you) just serves as the single key to open up an entire world of free web games. Sure there is rubbish out there, but imagine being a small-studio flash artist, adept with great programming... and you see this game. Simply create a game about "bursting" balloons, call it "Burst", integrate a chain system, powerups, and then post it up on a free webgame site. Presto! A great game, and not a cent to pay for it.

Which is why WiiWare titles that have awesome graphics, complex physics systems, and deep gameplay mechanics will thrive on the WiiWare library - not casual games like these. (Not unless WiiWare titles like these will sell for free...now that's a different story..)

take it from someone who has owned this abomination since 1990... You will read that text 96% of the time. Zounds your face, Double Dungeons!

I would perfer an N64 controller for the wii, but its better than nothing."
But don't all the N64 games on VC use the Gamecube controller, which is best rendition of a Nintendo analog controller so far?

About the stick though, white or black, it doesn't matter to me. I just hope that this controller works like a charm with SF:Hyper Fighting, and with subsequent Capcom iterations to follow.

*here's a brain fondle: try using this on Smash instead of the classic controller... OMG!

Re: Original Smash Bros Coming to VC?

Steviis_Father

Melee has since improved on the foundations that the classic was famous for. I'm a little neutral on the matter however, since the game isn't exactly the frantic animal people have come to love about the series. The speed is slower, but I guess, like all franchises, it helps to have the original around for sentimental reasons, and artistic reference.

What would be awesome incentive though, would be the chance to play Wii's Brawl on all the old N64 stages, if you have the game on VC. Now that's fan service!

Re: Goldeneye NOT Virtual Console Bound?

Steviis_Father

Let me just say this... I don't think it's such a bad idea. I'm sure Rare is just doing this to deliver the best experience possible - i.e. not on the Wii. Why? Well, Nintendo never uses its Nintendo WiFi service like XBLA does, so I'm sure some tweaking with the code could warrant multiplayer matches online. Plus, since it'd be multiplayer online, I'm certain that the game will no longer need 4-way split-screen, which we all know, was pretty crappy.

Re: Double Dribble

Of course NBA Jam on the SNES would be better... this came out on the NES.

Trippy though, that the dunk sound effect is the standard explosion sound used in Contra, Arkanoid and so many other games... haha!
