It wouldn't be such an issue if people hadn't bought plates in anticipation of the standard 3ds. I'm fine using my cobalt regular sized 3ds while I wait.
I already bought faceplates including the suede kyogre japanese ones. I won't be buying a new 3ds until the standard comes out, or I'll be importing a UK version and importing all my games from now on. The idea of being able to change the look of my system is brilliant. Very stupid move on NOA's part.
I personally have owned over 16 Nintendo Ds systems due to my wanting each design and exclusives. The standard faceplate version was absolutely perfect for me, as I get bored of designs and change them up. I even preordered the Kyogre limited edition suede faceplate 3ds just to get the plates for the USA version. I sold the japanese 3ds and waited. And now what? I can't enjoy changing around my own system? I'm not buying another 3ds until the standard comes out, or I'll be taking my business to Nintendo Europe and importing my games from now on.
