This game is a self spoofing unashamedly ugly game, it knows that it is bad and the devs purposely made it looks like trash. It's like a game made by Homer Simpson.
@electrolite77 Nintendo has Indies Direct and obviously did not featured games from Capcom, Ubisoft or Square Enix. So Indies are in their own category because they are not big companies - size does matters.
NFT is like DLC, eventually people will have no choice but to accept it.
Years ago people think DLC is a scam where developers saved some content and sold them later at extra cost. Now it's accepted as a norm. NFT will follow the same path.
Nintendo will use NFT to sell Amiibo as a digital asset, save them lots of money from making physical ones.
While Nintendo makes kids friendly games, they are also very shrewd - in fact Nintendo is like Wario, they are very good at milking money from their fans. There's a reason Mario has been collecting Bitcoins all these decades. This is a very money minded company, they will definitely make good use of NFT for their fans.
@nhSnork Indies are not big studios like Capcom, Ubisoft, EA, etc - they are not 'party'. Indies started out as individuals making homebrew games, today some of them formed companies but they are still minuscule compared to 3rd parties.
How many original 3rd party games are there for Switch? Nintendo is doing more Indies Direct than showing games from big 3rd parties.
Nintendo don't even care about 3rd parties. They made the consoles for their own games. The thousands of indie games are enough to replace the 3rd parties.

Re: Talking Point: What Could NFTs Mean For Gaming, And Why Are They So Divisive?
When there's a new technology, people will go, "How can I make money from it?", it's never "How can I use it to make the world a better place?".
