In a comment to his post Piscatella says he means “New as in not Used”, so for me it would be 4-5 games this year, but I also played several ps plus extra games on PS5 and upgraded NSO to play the switch 2 editions of BOTW and TOTK and Fire Emblem games.
I am in Japan, and after losing three rounds of the Nintendo lottery, I won the fourth round. Additionally, I got two invites from amazon.jp I cancelled. Compared to the PS5 launch, I think, Nintendo is doing quite well.
@NintendoWife Japanese retailer pre-orders started today, but they have different kinds of restrictions, or hold lotteries, so it’s not like you can just preorder them. At Amazon.jp, for example, you can request an invitation, at other retailers you need to have their credit card and a purchase record etc.
@Markiemania95 The Multi-language version is without Mario World Kart, but you can choose to add the download version at the reduced campaign price at the time of purchase.
@PJOReilly Yes, you can choose the version you want. As a bonus, people who apply for the multi-language version can get the download version of Mario World Kart for the reduced price (4k Yen) at the time of purchase.

I was able to choose the Japan-only version without Mario Kart World and the receipt for my application also shows this.
