@Bizzyb I thought I was the only one that wanted those two specific games on switch. Lol. At least I don't see many people asking for nier automata as much as persona 5. I hope square Enix stops being an ass and just fund the port for it, platinum games are more then willing to bring it to switch.
@ChaosBadger777 it usually is the case. There are millions of games now or being made and if we go completely on cloud only, there can only be so much one company can support. Like mobile games. These cloud games will get taken down eventually. That's why I won't pay for cloud games because I can't play the games I like as much as I want. I don't have a stable internet all the time. That's just the way it is. I won't say that it will happen to every game but there are some games like jrpgs that should not be on the cloud at all because they take a while to complete and not everybody can get to every game they play without fear of it being taken down in a couple of years. You are at the complete mercy of the cloud and the game companies that use it.
For the people that like and defend cloud gaming, they can't defend against companies taking down games from the server after paying 40 to more 100 for a game you don't even own. It's seem google stadia won't answer that question or any other company. If you pay for dlc on that cloud game and they decide to take your game off the server after 2 years then you lose money and no game to show for it. At least when you own a physical or digital game you still can play it and come back to the game 10 years later. Lol. That's one of the main problems I have with cloud gaming along with the whole world doesn't have 5g yet. I definitely don't. I think it's too early. I am physically and digital(if I have to) only. The only game I play on a server completely would be fortnite which I am trying to get away from. Lol
90% docked and 10 percent tabletop. I don't play handheld except for one game which I played handheld all the way and that was the world ends with you because I heard it was better to play it that way. I use docked for all sorts of reasons mainly because games just look better that way. Xenoblade as some people here mentioned is basically unplayable in handheld mode or tabletop mode to me. It looks like crap on handheld mode. That being said I play handheld mode only when I am going somewhere for a while or someone is using the tv. I have a system in place where I play games on handheld when they are games with bad or retro graphics like the Nintendo and Super Nintendo online app or grandia which I am playing now and any game that's from the ps1 or n64 era. Games that are graphically intense or games that I want to watch cutscenes on are always docked like xenoblade, BOTW, dragon quest xis, and fire emblem(because the text is hard to read in handheld mode). I will use handheld for jrpg grinding at times. But that's it. I am more of a docked guy. Lol
I know some people here are happy with this direct but I didn't enjoy it much. Monster hunter rise was a little interesting but I am not a monster hunter fan or a rune factory fan. I played the 3ds one and it was boring but maybe with rise I will try one more time to get into it. The disgaea games are a little too weird for me to get into and I don't care for ori at all, I hate most indie games(sorry if I offended people with that comment)I thought Microsoft wasn't going to release anymore games on switch but whatever. I liked the last partner direct better and the shin megami tensei one was the best reveal this year so far but only because of it. I am fine with partners minis but I hope Nintendo goes back to fat full directs soon. And for the people here that say Nintendo only did two main directs a year before this, you are wrong. Nintendo did a couple or 3 fat full directs and minis and indies and specific game directs throughout the year. I would like Nintendo to go back to that from a few years ago. This is just my opinion and sorry for the long rant. Well the only good news about 2020 was that with not a lot new games coming out, I am getting my backlog down a lot. I am working on the jrpgs on my switch right now which take a long time to complete lol
I love zelda but I hate musou/warriors gameplay. It gets so boring and the story usually suck which makes not a fan of koei tecmo. Although zelda story in this might make want to get one but my backlog is to big and will be for quite a while. I will sadly have to pass. The last warriors game I played was fire emblem warriors which me really sick of the copy paste formula they had. I played hyrule warriors for the Wii U when it came out.
Interesting that I would be hearing about this XC2 again. I still have yet to play torna due to my backlog but I will get to it very soon. I heard it isn't long. i already beat XC1 original on the Wii and don't plan playing it on the switch. But I am interested in future connected. Xenoblade chronicles X is the only other one I didn't beat yet. Lol. Hopefully it comes out on the switch. But before that I got to get my backlog down. Trying to finish octopath and the first playthrough of fire emblem three houses along with some other games.
@jimtendog completely agree with you. I am same way and I know a ton of other fans who would want those games on the switch. Heck, kingdom hearts is not PlayStation anymore. Xbox has all of the main games now too.
@Benjinat I agree too. I think Nintendo is trying to combat these leaks with changing everything last minute to surprise everyone and get more fans to not be disappointed with what is going to be announced.
But anyway, I guess congrats for people who like indie games. I don't like indie games so I will sit this one out. I have a crap ton of backlog games to play anyway.
@nhSnork I agree. I have been saying that for a while now that people should take advantage of this covid situation and focus on their backlogs. We can't be the only ones. I don't even play indie games and I still have a big backlog mostly rpgs like fire emblem 3H and dragon quest XI S. people are never satisfied. Lol
@Mgene15 I am not a fan of animal crossing either but I still have a ton to play on the switch. It seems like a lot of people don't have back catalogues of games. I play a lot of rpgs and they can take forever. Heck I am in the middle of playing dragon quest XI S and fire emblem three houses and those are 100 hour plus games just to name a few games i am working on the switch. Just finished astral chain on switch and it is one of best games on the switch ever to me! But to get back on topic this paper Mario looks interesting but I am not going to get it because I have a back catalogue plus l am one who likes the old paper marios better like the n64 and GameCube one. I tried the Wii one and I hated it the most probably even more then sticker star. I never played color splash for fear of the last 2 paper Mario games. I hear mixed reviews about color splash. The origami king looks and feels like color splash so I am waiting to get my back catalogue down first and then maybe get it on sale. Maybe. If anybody wants the complete list of games I am working on to know why I am not buying any new games for a while then send me a message lol 😂
While I do agree with his comment on "everybody makes games in the end" I don't agree with the rest of what he says. We need classification with games since there is so many of them. I know I will get bashed here for this but I tend to always stay away from most indie games because they just don't look good to me. Only 0.1% of them looks good to me while most of the indie games are too out there for me or doesn't even look like they are trying. I tend to go for AAA, AA, A and B rated games rather indie anyday. There are already so many of those games that I don't have time to be chasing indie games. And whether people like it or not, just because it is an indie game doesn't that it is automatically going to succeed like some people think. There are too many indie games out there for me to sit through each one and in my opinion a lot of indie games are no different then shovelware to me. Just my opinion but I do believe there should be some kind of classification for indies because pretty soon if not already, there will be too many indie games for anybody to notice or sit through.
I hope not because I am just really not interested in this game compared to astral chain and bayonetta. It looks nice but the main character and even the gameplay seems like a turn off to me. I am hoping that the switch gets nier automata instead. That's the game I would like to see platinum bring to the switch since they have an interest in bringing it to the switch. I know this a huge rumor for scalebound but I would much rather have mega man legends 3. We should have that game by now.
