I love hard games, such as Ninja Gaiden, Gradius, Castlevania III, and the Contra series, but this game is just a piece of crap. It's absolutely unreasonable in its difficulty. It leaves no room for error. The third level with the speeder bikes is unreasonable, and the fourth level with the snake is a slog. Difficulty is good if it's enjoyable, but there is no enjoyment to be had here. Worse, the game is hardly a fighting game. It's the first two levels that have the most brawling, and then the brawling disappears for these insane obstacle courses. When a game is this difficult (even more difficult than Gradius and Contra) it should have unlimited continues, but it doesn't.
That said, Battletoads & Double Dragon is actually enjoyable, being far superior. It's not too hard, but just hard enough to be enjoyable. I am surprised that people are ranking this Battletoads on the SNES online Switch console list of Battletoads & Double Dragon, which is so much better designed.
What's sad is Battletoads could have been a much more loved series, but Rare didn't learn from the difficulty of the first game on the NES. And by the time they actually did a wonderful game, Battletoads & Double Dragon, the series just wasn't that loved.
Not another remake! I am growing to loathe Square Enix's business practices. I would be okay with an HD remake if they included the original 8 bit game. But as it stands, I can't even legally download the original 8 bit trilogy anywhere. It's always remastered or remade by the company. Is it such a crime to want to play these games with original NES graphics and sound? Worse, gamers keep applauding remakes.

Re: Review: Brawl Brothers (Wii U eShop / SNES)
@meppi64 unpopular opinon. I actually enjoy this game more than Streets of Rage. I find Brawl Brothers underrated and Streets of Rage overrated.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online N64 Game Ranked
I will never understand how GoldenEye got so high on this list, ranked number 3. It's so overrated. So many better N64 games.
Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online N64 Game Ranked
It amazes me that GoldenEye is that high up on the list. It's not that great of a game.
