This reminds me how tried to get to competitive Pokemon - playing since gen 1., I started trying to IV-breed one in 6th. The last step, when I had 2 4-IV parents, took me ~20 hours of trying before I stopped and asked "why am I doing this? Were these hours fun?!?"
And that was the last time I ever played a Pokemon game...
Also, since then, I make sure to stop playing any game when it becomes a chore, boring, or just generally non-enjoyable. (For example, I stopped Omori like that. I'm interested in the story, yes, but the Sweetheart's Castle almost burned me out and when I realized Humphrey is going to be the same, I just couldn't...)
Hm, I stopped playing both Pokemon and Splatoon some time ago... and here I am, cheering for team grass. Good luck guys! And enjoy the splatfest, everyone!
@EarthboundBenjy @Jhena You just took the words out of my mouth!
The Great Escape is not only my favourite Rayman game, but also my favourite platformer and also an entry in my personal top games list. Of course, that's partially nostalgia, it's always hard to objectively judge one of the first games we played, but I think it's clearly very polished game.
@San_D I'm not sure about that. When you insert physical cartridge to the Switch, it will show up as the first icon, regardless of where it was in the list. Of course, I cannot confirm how it acts when you have 2000+ games as my game count is like 100 times smaller than this limit, but I guess that even if the physical game icon disappears, it would reappear when inserted. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
One game which helped me a bit at the time was Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It somehow gave me energy to go on for some time when I was in elementary school.
I could use one now though, since last summer actually, but nothing seems to work. Just finished Gris - it's beautiful, moving, but not strong enough to break the wall I guess.
Coincidentally, I'm going to finally start Gris, too. (Which means I'm also going to finally break my game hiatus caused by huge frustration from Smash's World of Light.)
@thinkhector I can confirm Joy-cons can be updated wirelessly without any issues - I did that to one of my pairs. It's about 4 times slower and after it's finished, they reconnect (I guess they restart/reload.)
@Fizza Nowadays, it's common to have update-able firmware in pretty much every device, including processors and hard drives in PC (actually, PC processors have their own operating systems - for example, search for Intel Management Engine). I guess it's like drivers which joycons use to handle their hardware (bluetooth, nfc, etc.) The wireless technology is quite complicated (search for Bluetooth in Wikipedia) and by updating the firmware which handles communication might change things for better, fix bugs, etc. See this very discussion; e.g. @thinkhector about fixed interference with bluetooth headphones or my previous post about more stable connection. As for other platforms, I don't know (last one I used was PS3 and I really don't remember), but @RubyCarbuncle mentioned PS5 controller updates.
I updated them a few days ago and it seems like it fixed my huge issue with the right joycon; even if I play just around 50cm from the docked Switch (which is also placed on the right side and in front of everything else), the joycon randomly disconnects. When I place my hands under my desk (which is wood, not metal) or if I play a bit further, the Switch seems to react to input with huge delay like there's weak signal or interference.
I also bought a new pair of joycons many months ago hoping it's just issue with the particular joycon and situation was exactly the same: the left one is ok, the right one acts like it has weak signal and disconnects randomly. (One time, it disconnected when it was like 10cm next to the Switch.) Note that I don't use any other bluetooth devices and the only device which uses my WiFi is the Switch. Also note that I checked videos for fixing the weak signal, but a) they're concerned about left joycon (which works fine for me) and b) after I took the joycon apart, the foam was already there - yes, even in the right one.)
After I updated my joycons a few days ago, it seems like this is finally fixed. I still would like to wait a few weeks before claiming it was actually the update which fixed it, because there's still non-zero chance that a random interference source is off right now and the problem might return, but I think (I hope) the update really fixed that.
@Ralizah I thought so and yes, that's the scene which I meant, too. And I fully understand your reaction. I actually wrote an essay (reflection - not sure what's the correct word in English) to my diary about what kind of emotions this part of game triggers and why in order to process the whole experience.
Also thanks for the explanation about other games (to the Anoyonmus), I didn't look at other Corpse Party games, because a) I wanted (needed) to take some break and b) I got feeling that this is that kind of tale, which works perfectly as-is and sequels might ruin the overall feeling of the story.
@Ralizah 100% agree. I'm not sure whether you mean the same scene, but there was one which disturbed me (just by sound) that I actually started questioning why I play the game in the first place. (And I originally thought I'm resistant to such things after watching the old Higurashi anime .) That being said, visuals are also surprisingly descriptive/detailed when you take into the account the really low resolution.
Anyway, I finished it (3DS) and I recommend to anyone who likes horrors and is brave enough. Although gameplay is mostly blind search for correct path (order of actions) - I humbly confess that I finished the last chapter with walkthrough after a few fails...

Re: Poll: What Is Your Favourite Character Reveal Trailer For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Didn't vote, because I didn't see half of the trailers, but yeah, Sephiroth's one made me freeze in shock for a moment. "No way, they didn't!"
Ah, I really wish I had irl friends to play this one with, the game's just pumped with potential for the best fun.

Re: XSEED Is Bringing An Updated Version Of Corpse Party To Switch Later This Month
@Miu Thx, but I don't consider myself skilled gamer, too. I think this game isn't about skill, it's more about persistence and perhaps memory...
