It doesn't apply to me anyways. I'm 14 and I don't even own a single teen rated video game, let alone a mature rated game. Nintendo has always been the great family-friendly company. To me, Professor Layton (gentleman, helps others, etc.) is more mature than all of the FPS games combined, but that's just my opinion.

Great job on making it on the eShop again! I don't remember the first time mainly because I wasn't a member yet. In another a few months, I hope to see you guys on there once again.

I only hope that there will never come a day where games can only be bought digitally. If there is only going to be a small discount, then I'd rather buy the complete package with the game and the instruction manual. I don't want to ever have the fear of losing all the games I bought if my 3DS was to get stolen or lost.

The Gamestop that I visited recently said that the trade-in value for my 3DS for a 3DS XL would be $55.

@Wilford111 Yes. They come with the chargers included.

It will probably be just another unfinished puzzle for me.

This is a steal! You can't find collector's editions very often, but when you do, get it while you have the chance.

It's a good thing I don't care about online features too much, or I wouldn't have bought all of the Nintendo consoles I own.

This game doesn't look so bad as it sounds to be.There were only two retail games I thought about purchasing this year, but this could make it three.

Mainly I'll be playing 3DS Ware games I just downloaded such as Pushmo, Mighty Switch Force, and VVVVVV. Besides that, I'll probably just play against friends on Kid Icarus: Uprising.

From being an awesome editor on a Nintendo site to becoming a part of Nintendo itself, you will surely be missed, James, by all on this site. Though I regret not joining Nintendo Life earlier, I was here long enough to know just how great you are. Congratulations and good luck at NoE!

November can't come soon enough! This installment in the series looks like the best one yet. The daily downloadable puzzles is another treat that I can't wait for. Just keep bringing us more Layton!

@mamp Don't forget to mention if it came out with a limited edition Majora's Mask 3DS bundle, it would really boost up sales.

The majority of the time I'm playing, I leave the 3D on max. However, it's still not the greatest effect unless you're playing games such as Kid Icarus Uprising. To me, the 3D was a great feature, but it can only last so long until it becomes worn out and is a last gen element. It just makes you wonder, "What will they come up with next?"

I'll probably get a 3DS XL after I sell my old one on eBAY as long as I can get a reasonable deal by including the charger, the 3DS case, and the CPP alongside the system. Since I spent well over $250 including the accessories, I don't want to feel like that I'm being ripped off.

@Samholy The prizes are free and are based on your elite status, but now,unfortunately, the site is down due to maintenance and could be why your coins didn't reset.

@xenomaster I feel the same way. I was only off by ten coins this year.

I'll be getting the calendar since I missed out on the Platinum membership by ten coins. Anyways, I hope they will release new prizes along the way, because the others are either old or not interesting. I just hope they will have Kid Icarus AR cards available soon.

For a while, I planned on waiting to buy a Cobalt blue 3DS when it would be released in North America. Now, I'll just pick up the blue 3DS XL. However, I still wished Nintendo would have released it until next year.

This was the website I unsuccessfully copied and pasted in the forum "3DS LL/XL Confirmed." I was in a rush that day. Anyways, the 3DS XL looks like an incredible system the way that they explained it hands-on.

I had just asked this question in "Ask James" not too long ago. I suppose I should delete it. To me, it just seems strange to have the Wii U and the 3DS XL be released within a few months difference due to the competition that will be between the two new consoles.

I don't see why everybody thinks that the 3DS XL looks like a Fisher Price toy, and it certainly doesn't look like a portable DVD player to me. The appearance doesn't sell the hardware, but the content of the system and its quality games will.

I think the system will have more positives than negatives in the end. Even if it is bland looking, it won't stop people from buying it. Secondly, I'm sure Nintendo focused on making sure the visuals and graphics wouldn't be blurry or out of proportion. Finally, the second circle pad would have made more people angry if it was included, because they would think Nintendo is rushing their products and because if they bought a circle pad pro, then it would become obsolete.

No. It's definitely not a hidden object game. The puzzles are logic and strategic based. If you need an example, just go to the official website and there should be a few demo puzzles. If you answer the puzzle correctly, you'll earn these things called picarats which can be used to unlock bonuses. Each time up to two times you answer incorrectly, the number you earn will go down. It also includes three minigames within each game. I'm sure you'd enjoy it if you bought it.

@Red_Kinect Professor Layton is a point and click puzzle game where you move around and try to solve a mystery by finding clues. Only the cutscenes and certain other times are the characters fully voiced. I don't however know if the cutscenes will be in 3d or not. Before this one, I'd reccomend that you get Professor Layton and the Last Specter, which includes London Life, a separate RPG similar to Animal Crossing, and maybe even the movie, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, so you'll be caught up. Then you could buy the other trigoly if you wanted.

I agree with Reggie on this topic, but I wished that they would have shown some of the surprises from the last Nintendo Direct at E3 instead. Still, they work long and hard to make some great quality games, so we just need to be more patient. I can't complain. I'm just glad I'll be getting a 3DS XL, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Luigi's Mansion 2, and maybe even more wihin the same year.

The footage of the puzzles during the Nintendo Direct and this trailer look amazing. The atmosphere just looked so vibrant unlike any other location in the series. This by far looks like the best Layton game. I know I still have to see the movie, but why must it be released in November?

@Destroyer64 It will come with an AC adapter. James pointed it out on comment #80. Also, I believe the inside's top will be the same color as the outside surface.

Why do you think that Nintendo will be selling the 3DS XL and the Wii U in the same year? Obviously for money but then there will be competition between the two systems. Not many people would buy both within a few months difference.

Bring on the release dates for Animal Crossing, Professor Layton, and Fire Emblem. Maybe even new colors such as the Cobalt blue 3ds will be shown.

This sounds awesome even though I'm not planning to buy a Wii U. Obviously from my signature, I'm a huge Professor Layton fan. I hope however that PL and the Miracle Mask and PL vs. Ace Attorney comes out on the 3DS first. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I don't even think I own a FPS game, but that is not the future of Nintendo anyways. Nintendo has always been the fun console for families for decades, and that is where they should stay. Family games have been their long term plans which have led them to their success and will for generations to come.
