The game doesn't crash. I don't know if I'm just lucky, but I have almost completed the game and there was no crash at all. There's only 1 person here (and in the whole web, after many searches) that's saying it crashes. I'm not saying that he's lying, but I think it's more likely that his wii has some problem.
If the game was buggy there would be tons of complaints all over the net, don't you think?

"...Nintendo would rather play hopscotch in a mine field than release a Nintendo 64 game on the Virtual Console..."
Did I miss something? Why the hell Nintendo wouldn't release any N64 title? Majora's Mask is maybe the most interesting game that could ever be released on the VC,and one of the reasons I bought a Wii. So many people didn't had a chance to play this fantastic game, why this decision? Are they retarded?

Re: Virtual Console games to be directly downloadable to SD cards

PRP

I don't think that this storage solution only concerns the dowload location of VC games and that we'll not be able to load them from SD...that just doesn't make sense. Basically we can already do that manually, I don't think they will bother with a new FW update to do something that solves nothing. Nintendo has to clarify that statement

Ghouls 'n Ghosts for the TG16 is a Supergrafx game (not CD). I really wish that game to come in EU & US as well, since is much better than the Genesis one... Let's hope for a release in some of the next Hanabi Festival

If you find the controls on the D-pad a little difficult here's a useful tip: pressing "J" on the virual keyboard will change the control scheme so that you don't have to press on the diagonals anymore, for example pressing up instead of up-right to move in that direction. This makes things a lot easier, especially jump sections. Alternatively you can use the GC controller (the analogic stick of the Classic Controller doesn't work).

Re: Metal Slug

The game runs at 50Hz, wich is disappointing. Also, no flashing hit detection (why?) , but luckily the blood is still present...

Re: Lords of Thunder

just downloaded this wonderful game, very hard indeed, but great. However I have a problem that really bothers me: shooting with the water armor at full power makes too much flashing, cause the fire covers the entire screen and after some time it gives me nausea...I never had such a problem with other games,nor I suffer from epilepsy, so I thought it's worth to mention this. Does anyone experienced the same problem?

Re: Top 10 RPGs We Want To Come To The Virtual Console

PRP

As stated by Kevin, I would also like to see some Ultima games for the C64, possibly Ultima VI ( I know it's unlikely to happen, but can you imagine that game without the constant disk swapping on the VC and IR support? A Dream! ).
And wether it's an Rpg or not....give us Majora's Mask!!!!

Please, can anybody tell me if this game is Pal optimized? I have little hopes for this, though... (fingers crossed)

Re: Nintendo Power Poll - What Games Do You Want To See?

PRP

I don't live in US too, but here are my most wanted 5, hoping they come in both US and Europe:
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask --> N64
Castlevania Dracula X --> TG16
Ghouls 'n ghosts --> TG16
Turrican 2 --> C64
Zack Mc Cracken --> C64

Re: Wonder Boy

PRP

@Marvel_Maniac : the sequels are a bit different from the first WB, introducing small rpg elements: you have a sword to stab enemies, you can enter shops to buy or upgrade your current equipment, becoming more powerful as you progress in the game.
They're just different in terms of gameplay. I prefer them over the original, but if you're looking for a pure platformer try the first one.
I hope Wonderboy 2 will be released soon on the VC, I loved the arcade version and the SMS conversion was very faithful (although the PC-engine version was even better, but with different characters and japanese texts).

Re: Ghouls 'n Ghosts

PRP

@Damo: Yes I know that they are minor graphical differences, but I loved stage 2 with its backgounds, it was one of my favourite stage ever, and I was a little disappointed to see those windmills in 8-bit style. Call it nostalgia ; ) I agree with you that the megadrive version is an accurate port though.
I'd like to know why is it really impossible to have Super Grafx games on the VC? After seeing PCE CD conversions reaching the VC I thought that I could hope for any Pcengine game to be released.

Re: Ghouls 'n Ghosts

PRP

I really wish they will release the Pc-engine version, way better conversion than this (almost arcade perfect):for example the 2nd level in the Genesis version is horrible compared to the arcade. Super G'nG is nice but too damn hard, I like G'nG much.
