One of my all favorite time games ever, and my first RPG. I didn't even know what an RPG was, I just know it had Mario on the cover and I bugged my parents to buy it for me. I remember asking family members and friends to help me solve the Sunken Ship password as I didn't have the strategy guide, didn't get past that area until later on when I became an adult. I still want Geno in Smash to this day but alas... A true sequel would be amazing, but at least we have this gem of a game to cherish. Kinda a bittersweet feelings that it's turned 25, that.
Nice review. I chuckled at some unintentional puns (drought... plot... don't hate me please). The game sounds fun enough, but the character designs look so... unappealing unfortunately. Think I'll be skipping this one :/ hope the devs can make a similar game in the future with different designs.
Great review, was mainly curious about how it integrated with BotW and Odyssey. I would love to jump back into Mario with new added content, but for now, I have too many games I want that will come first before buying the Labo VR. At any rate, I'll be watching with interest to see how far Nintendo goes into this arena and seeing if VR is truly the future or not.
On one hand, this looks cool. On the other, was hoping to get to play Persona 5 but I guess I'll need a PS4 for that. Oh well, still need to play Persona 3 and 4 anyways. I'm of the camp the main series is staying with Sony because I do not think this would make nearly as much money as a Persona 5 port would, which leaves me scratching my head.
I spent hours on TMNT II, Double Dragon, Kid Icarus, Gameboy Camera, Pokemon BRY, and both Super Mario Land titles. Some probably don't hold up well today but dang if the handheld didn't have some classics. Just makes me wanna check out all the other games I missed out on as a kid
@Varkster The thought of Miyamoto retiring does make me feel a little sad... though I have a little hope in the newer generation as games come out where he might be less "on the ground" so to speak.
If anyone is interested in the monster catching genre, Monster Sanctuary is a Metroidvania take on it that had a fun demo on Steam. Coromon also looks to be pretty cute and fun.
Would like this, especially for Giga Wing and Darkstalkers. Don't think I want to spend $200 on it though, which is a shame because I would like to support it so more of these games end up on Switch. I might buy one if there's ever a sale...
@ljb88 haven't read that book but for people misinformed about feminism I personally would recommend "Feminism is for Everybody" by bell hooks. Not all feminists hate men. Feminists want to dismantle the patriarchy. Me being a feminist, I don't think I would want a matriarchy either, because both structures are anti-equality. All feminism is, is women having equal rights. Feminists like bell hooks realize the patriarchy hurts men as well as women, so feminism actually helps bring to light issues that men face just as much. I think if more people realized the statistics of economic disparity, rape, and violence perpetrated against women, people would see that not everything is entirely truly equal, and that's why feminism fights against these things. That's why there are people like Anita Sarkeesian.
As far as the actual article... Why is there such a huge ****ing deal over this? Seriously? Do people hate feminists/LGBT people so much that they will just not buy this game, because the manager is active in promoting feminism and LGBT awareness? I hope the game continues with the same team and that the manager won't lose her job because of a bunch of naive fanboys. If there are feminist ideals in the game, honestly, that's awesome. I have even more respect for Inafune if he is all about that.
