Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?

Everyone has a screen protector, at least the one applied by Nintendo so the glass doesn’t shatter when broken. So those saying they can’t stand having one, you might want to peel the original one off your screen or realize that properly applied it won’t be noticed.
I’ve had a screen protector ready weeks before my launch day Switch 2 arrived, same as on my pristine original Switch.

Re: Switch 2 Units Are Allegedly Out In The Wild, But You Might Need An Update For Switch 1 Games

Switch 2 emulation lauer for Switch 1 is still being developed, so whatever was installed on Switch 2 consoles during production is at least months old. To have the latest backwards compatibility the latest version of the emulation is needed. To prevent people not doing the update and complaining about bad performance requirement to update is understandable. I assume that physical releases will again contain firmware updates containing (some) emulator updates too.

The requirement to go online to use storage cards is due to licensing. Microsoft requires a small fee for using their exFAT filesystem and Nintendo only pays it for those consoles, which really use this feature. So once you put in a storage card and go online, Nintendo gets notified to pay Microsoft for your license.

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility List

Nintendo Switch 2 emulates routines from Switch 1. Some of them are missing or don’t behave exactly as on the original system, that’s why games using those routines don’t work. Nintendo must have a list of those routines and are fixing them, and each such fix also makes many games to work better. Same happened with Xbox One generation which switched to 64bit X86 and through sw emulator supported games from Xbox 360 and its 64bit PowerPC architecture and also first Xbox with 32bit X86. They also had different GPUs and had to be emulated too. Microsoft increased resolution, uncapped framerate and also added some HDR through their emulator. I expect the emulator in Switch 2 to evolve and fix most of the games eventually.

Re: Street Fighter 6 Somehow Combines Game-Key Card And Code-In-A-Box On Switch 2

Everyone here complaining about the lack of physical releases (me including): this is just a test, which direction will lead to highest earnings. People here are a minority, Nintendo will have precise statistics of sold games in digital, key cart or full release and can then decide, whether it’s worth to lose a few customers but have higher earnings from the rest. I’ll vote with my wallet. CP2077 preordered, despite having it on PC (from GOG so without DRM) and Xbox.

And cart slot remains to allow people use their Switch 1 games on Switch 2.

I’ve preordered this game on PC and then got it for Xbox too (both digital editions). Now I preordered physical for Switch 2 as well to support the devs. Show I ordered from sent me an email that as a preorder bonus there’s a CP2077 bandana included (https://www.alza.sk/gaming/cyberpunk-2077-bandana-d12936595.htm)
