Re: Discover What Play Modes Await in Tetris for 3DS

Nintendude92

I let out a long groan when I heard hudson was doing Tetris for 3DS. Tetris party was so sluggish.. and didn't look so hot on any platform. But it looks great and the trailers I've seen look tons of fun. I will most likely pick this one up, retail or otherwise

Re: Japanese Gamers Put Off by High Price of 3DS

Nintendude92

Bought it on launch. Worth every penny. It's such a significant leap forward that it's just so hard to regret buying it at this price tag.

If I didn't have the money at launch, I would probably be waiting for more games to rush myself, though

Re: 3DSWare File Size May Be Bigger Than WiiWare

Nintendude92

Team Meat got a 3DS dev kit, but if you look at their blog, they plan on beginning work on a 2nd game very soon. They're also working on the mac version of Meat boy

That said-- quit it with the size limit Nintendo. I'll buy a bigger SD card if needed

Re: Dead or Alive Fails to Land a Hold on UK Charts

Nintendude92

I don't think the NGP will be out this fall for one, they only have plans to launch it in one territory by the end of the year. In addition, Nintendo just needs to hurry up and get all the people on the fence down here. They acknowledged that the gamers would be the first to snap the system up, and give us little to nothing to go on.

Dead or Alive is great but it's not going to push hardware, and without more hardware, you can't expect great sales. Nintendo's got to step it up. They may have even been better off launching in June. (Not that I regret my purchase!)

Re: Mario Kart Without Items Isn't Mario Kart, That Includes the Blue Shell

Nintendude92

I'm a competitive nut in Mario Kart Wii.. max VR, 3 star rating; on all 4 files.. The online is so much fun.

..Except when I get pegged by several; not one- blueshells. There is no way to dodge it without a shroom or during launches that are railed.

I agree that it's fun to be crowded together, and the chaos in the back of the pack is classic, but blueshells are slaps to people who actually play to get better. How does a blueshell from someone in 8th improve that persons chance of winning? Knock everyone off the track like before or bring back a dedicated way of dodging like in Kart DS. We already have that in the form of the BULLET BILL; so what purpose does the Blue shell serve? Nothing. It's not fun.

Re: Capcom's 3DS Adventure Game Sounds Very Different

Nintendude92

Sounds like Papa sangre on the appstore.. that game is played completely with 3D sound using a pair of headphones. The only visuals were controls.

..However,
"being wrapped up in tape, and the sound of a maid blowing into the player's ear."

^Sounds more interesting than the howling, snarling creatures that creep by you in papa sangre.

This 360 degree thing has been done a few times already and it works really well, but you still need visuals. Papa sangre felt very limited with out it.

Re: Talking Point: 3DS Launch Line-Up Lacks Fresh Ideas

Nintendude92

I suppose that this is kind of true. Apart from Steel Diver, I'm pretty familiar with what the launch titles are.

What normally sets the experience apart for Nintendo is the hardware. Sure, I've played Nintendo franchises before.. but with a touch screen? Dual screens? Motion?

The thing is with 3DS, the 3D won't be required in almost all of the games to play them. In Pilot wings it certainly helps, but without the ability to have instances where 3D is required to progress, we will see alot of redundancy.

Leave it to Nintendo to show what the hardware can really do with its beloved IP's in the coming months, it's too early to say.

The new tech specs alone make the experience fresh, but not new. And to that end, I can agree- but not because of the franchises being familiar.

Re: DJ Shadow Sheds a Little Light on DJ Hero 2

Nintendude92

Why the hate for DJ hero? It took me by surprise when I got it in December, its very good and its recieved high scores and praise so cut it some slack. Its really good.

I agree though, I don't want to see like 12 different spin-offs (no pun intended) of it.

Re: Review: WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase (WiiWare)

Nintendude92

You can access the same content as the DS one, Just can't create anything. Its a nice addition to the DS version, which should be gotten first. I imported all of 18-volts games into my DS, and my DIY games look nice on the big screen.

Such a great outing for warioware.

Re: Review: WarioWare: D.I.Y. (DS)

Nintendude92

The review is spot-on, the only gripe I have with it is that right away you notice that the micro games aren't as entertaining or as plentiful as past releases, because they were all made with the actual tool. It's a double edged sword because while we notice it we can learn quite a bit, these games were cleverly put together using the tools and the resources in them make putting together a game much more entertaining! The maker really is alot of fun to mess with, the very well made music maker and art tools, and assembly are broken down with alot of tutorials and tips.

The Japanese version is still having competitions and putting out microgames so you won't have a shortage of anything once we get going. I think your going to need a wi-fi connection or friends to make this truly effective though. I love it though, great job, they worked hard on this.

Re: Review: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii)

Nintendude92

Old school fighting on the wii- its a lot of fun!

Better than brawl in terms of latency, but thats only because its hard to get 4 people with sharp connections each time. This is a fighter so everyone needs to be on the same frame. If brawl gave you issues its going to be here too.. All on your connection.

Re: British R4 Card Importer Shipping Off To Prison

Nintendude92

"Its only a matter of time before something replaces this. Piracy will never disappear."

"Try as you might, you can never stop piracy. Stop R4 cards and something new will come along. It's a waste of taxpayer money to throw people in jail over this kind of stuff."

Both true. And there are well above 30 different kinds of devices for this type of thing.

Not saying I support it, and not saying that wasn't a nice catch, but you really can't eliminate it all.

Re: Review: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (WiiWare)

Nintendude92

@110: Nah, anyone who hasn't tried them should snag it. I personally won't get it cos its the same thing..

I wouldn't dock it for being a port though, or for clocking in at a large block size. If I was new to the series I woulda got it, not like PW is a prize in visuals, save $20.

Re: Review: Arcade Bowling (DSiWare)

Nintendude92

I got 400pts left,

This and flipper I guess. You made it sound like its presented well and plays well, it just not as good as playing it in real life, and I should hope not. Will try.

Re: Bomberman Blast: Battlefest Coming to WiiWare

Nintendude92

As long as they fix all the damn terrible issues with the first blast, this is an instant get. Give us online that doesn't lag with filter modes and it could be the same for me, I'd still get it.

Better yet, just port the Live/ps3 experience.

Re: Monsters of Dragon Quest Wars

Nintendude92

Well said Waltz..

Its a strategy game, and I'm a big fan of that genre. And if intelligent systems is behind it, home of advance wars (best for metagame period) I'm not going to underestimate it.
