Game design was lazy. In the end, I just sold my copy and it was the first Pokemon game I've sold ever since gen 1.
I tried both expansion areas, but in the end the gameplay came down to biking around in empty, boring areas with no goals to chase. I can do that with a real bike outside and feel way more achieved.
I've been left with a feeling that if there will ever be a remake of gen 4, it features the same forced Dynamax mechanic. The starters and a handful of other mons have the Gigantamax forms, and the reveal trailers feature a Gigantamax Bibarel.

And that's not a good feeling.
