@DennisReynolds When do you think fighting games started?

@DennisReynolds and yet some DLC's were cancelled and sales are down on the prior game.

Why not just release the finished game first time to encourage everyone to buy it on release as clearly from the recent additional sales, some people waited until it was complete/ price drops.

I think Mortal Kombat 11 was the version that a lot of consumers got wise to definitive version, so fewer people bought the earlier incomplete versions and DLC separately.

Let's see if NetherRealm test whether it is the case that if they release a complete game first time, more will be interested in it, at a higher price, at launch.

Would Nintendo share the Switch 2 design with these companies? Developers with a development kit that would contain the specs make sense, but third party controller extras companies?

I'd imagine that Nintendo would more likely want to sell their own version of these products, wouldn't they?

If these designs are nothing like the Switch 2 actually will be, it would also explain no action by Nintendo.

Well after the prior MK, I was always going to wait for the Komplete Edition of MK1.

I think a lot of people were going the same so the DLC's haven’t sold as the developers have expected so they are looking to cut it short.

So does this mean that for the next MK game we might get a complete version on release? It would certainly be interesting to compare the sales figures if that were the case.

@abbyhitter well there certainly are different versions of the same game released by publishers so that qualifier coming from say Limited Games would serve a purpose.

@lacaras4 this point is one I was looking for. Physical games are great but how many have been changed by patches and downloads that, if those were no longer available, the actual game as first released would then not be recognisable? We didn't have that issue with the Snes.

Remember Cuphead might be discounted but you have factor in a new Switch/controller into the total cost of THAT game.

@Dragonite89 the complaints would reasonable if the Switch 2 isn't backwardly compatible as they would have no new switch games and be only able to play what could be a large library of games they own on a console that may no longer be in production so couldn't be replaced.

@Herna in Portugal. Several clubs set up already in England. No one should care whether it is called soccer or football. Although for some reason you do when you don't.

@Clyde_Radcliffe it's called getting caught! They haven't released the original arcade version on any system and I think that Japanese Mega Drive version was the last with the old music. The PS1 era versions were released with Bubble Bobble had different music included.

@jrt87 oh no - I've just looked up those games you've mentioned and it looks like I will be doing the same thing!

The problem with Rainbow Islands is the Over The Rainbow tune in it. That's why they release the Extra version these days.

The Japan only Mega Drive version has the original tune I recognise from playing the Amstrad Cpc464 version (on a green screen) as well as the Extra version.

@bonjong23 exactly right and I'm unsure why so many want a pro system which would mean they have to upgrade to pay the latest games?

A new Rainbow Islands is exactly what I wanted to hear.

@Grumble there are a number of emulated Lynx games on the two collections on the Evercade that were released this year.

I really want to play a Transformers G1 beat em up in the style of Capcom vs Marvel 2.

Would anyone else buy that?
