I guess this is a good test for the Metroid franchise. It always seems to come out on either the wrong console or too early/late in a consoles life cycle. Here's hoping it can do gangbusters and change the perception that it can only be a low selling Nintendo IP.
I've got the special edition it on pre-order for my fiancé's birthday as Metroid is his absolute number one game series.

@Mdhoover The only criticism I see of this game is the price. Seeing its chart position, I think the UK public largely agree. So in no way has Nintendo got a pass this time around. So hopefully lesson learned, because I've been loving Pikmin 3 deluxe and I'm someone who put 100 hours into the Wii U version.

It holds up extremely well but the price is just too high.

Pretty cool to see two Nintendo games at the top of the charts for a second week in a row. I wonder if we will see Mario Kart 8 and Luigis Mansion 3 re-emerge next week.

I wonder if the increase in Splatoon 2 sales is related to the Splatfest last weekend.

It will easily take Odyssey and Breathe of the wild. The game has such a presence outside of the gaming community. I think it has a fair chance of being the Switch's best selling game as it has accessibility and a timely release date that play extremely into its favour.

Mario Maker 2 has to be one of the Switch's main misfires, it should have been as big if not bigger than the first and yet it really didn't hit the mark. I look at how Splatoon 2 was really a refinement of the first and has hit 10 million and then Mario Maker which has Luigis Mansion 3 and NSMBUD outsell it and can't help think missed opportunity.

I remain impressed by Luigis Mansion 3's performance. I wonder if its already the best selling game from that franchise.

With Animal Crossing, it's one of those rare games that has penetrated public consciousness. Even people who don't own a Switch or the game have been showing me memes at work or asking me about the game. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the Switch top seller because its momentum hasn't faded yet.

I knew Animal Crossing would do well but to be pretty much the next best thing after Mario Kart 8 is stunning success.

Also, big shout out to Luigis Mansion 3. I had no idea that the series was as liked as it is as its pretty much hung around for 6 months now.

I am a little bit surprised by Luigis Mansion 3 still hanging in there. I wonder what has driven that success considering the Pokemon games left the top ten a while ago now.

Luigis Mansion 3 performance has got to be a real stand out for Nintendo UK. Mario Kart 8 and Pokemon Sword are obvious big sellers but LM3 has been steadily just selling since October.

I'm really happy with this, LM3 was my game of 2019 and an utter joy to play.

I'm surprised at Luigis Mansion 3 and its staying power. It's one of my favourite Switch games so I am happy that its doing well.

Totodile has always been my favourite Pokemon so he has to be my favourite water type starter. Such a cheeky chappy.

This is a pretty good effort from Yoshi and I hadn't quite realised that Mario deluxe was still in the top ten.

The legs on Mario Kart 8 deluxe though. Seriously impressive performance.
