@MsJubilee That is on Bethesda, they Just did not managed the Studio, leaving it in the hands of the publisher in charge of doing so for decades. Destroying Tango is 100% Microsoft's responsibility.
@Axecon I personally doubt Rare Replay will come to Switch. First talking about the collection, Xbox/X360 games that need to be ported, the others also dont emulate Nintendo consoles, is not as complicated as the case of Xbox/X360 games, but they also require a port. But that's not the main point, Nintendo is slowly putting out the games it released on their consoles on their subscription, and this is much more profitable than selling the games individually.
@XenoShaun Phil Spencer already said that he IS fully agains NFT's and the Metaverse, so while Satya Nadella gives him independence to manage the game division Xbox as a whole (Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks and in the future Activision-Blizzard) wont support NFT's, the CEO never said anything about NFT's but he sees a future in the metaverse, everything can change with time, but for now Xbox IS agains NFT's
@Domino Io Interactive is not owned by Square for years, they soon off (like Bungie and Microsoft) they are now independent, working on three games, one of them supposedly being Project Dragon, a Xbox exclusive.
Also they dont own the rights, they have a license for ONE game so far, it is not a even a exclusive license.
@ATaco Noop It is about avarage highest score, Microsoft released like 4 games last year.
They came from Age Of Empire 4 (they own the IP since 2001), Halo Infinite(they own the IP since 2001), Forza Horizon 5 (they created the IP in ~2004), Microsoft Flight Simulator (they own the IP since ~1984) and Psychonauts 2 (that they own since 2019, but without the deal the game would be released in 2018, without Boss battles and some more cut content, with the acquisition they got 3 years for development + money to finish It)
@Would_you_kindly No Bethesda games are not included in the Xbox Game Studios list, two independent publishers subsidiary to the Microsoft Gaming division.
AKA Xbox owns 2 publishers, soon to be 3 (technically 4 but despite operating independently Activision and Blizzard is not something that actually applies according to Metacritic the same goes for Atlus and Sega), but they are still independent, at least for now.
@Dringo Not what Ed Fries said in Interviews and he was part of the team at Xbox negotiating the acquisition. Go do some research, Xbox executives/former executives are very open about the company's past.
Rare did kept making great games, and I only got to know the company and became a fan thanks to SoT, but that doesn't change the fact.
The company had serious management, crunch, and financial issues, Nintendo and Activision refused to buy It, people remember Rare games for what they r, but these most of these games floped on sales, especially after two mass resignation from devs in the form of protest against the crunch (one of them coming after the release of Perfect Dark)
PS: And yes, this before the acquisition, in case of confusion
@TJC04 Actually no, Microsoft only published 3 games on Switch, Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons and Ori and the Blind Forest.
Moon Studio said that It took a real effort on their part to talk to Microsoft about porting Ori to the Switch, it was something the Xbox didn't want, they just did it to try to maintain the relationship with the studio and because the game was too small enough, but he has no plans to do it again and so Moon Studio has chosen not to work with Xbox Game Studios anymore. Ori still with Microsoft and Moon Studios is now in a partnership with Private Division.
MDHR did say that Microsoft asked than tô port It to the Switch (at the time it was supposed to support Xbox Live to encourage use on Nintendo's platform) but after that the contract was broken and relationships deteriorated, also It was never published by Microsoft not even on Xbox, they Just has a exclusivity deal (we dont even know If It was timed, similar to No Mans Sky)
PS: But i do believe It Will be released for Switch.
@Znake Again exclusives sell consoles/subscriptions, that's why Microsoft made The Elder Scrolls and Starfield Xbox exclusives (these Will sell way more then any Rare game)
@SOOAP They aren't lazy, they literally refused to buy Rare, and in the end the company just didn't end up in Activision's hands (I can't imagine a worse fate for the company, they would probably be developing CoD right now) cause the company saw the Rare financial reports and withdrew from the acquisition, and Rare returned in despair to Microsoft (afraid of bankruptcy, expecting to be turned down as they refused Microsoft to go after Activision) but since Microsoft was looking for devs for the Xbox they avoided bankruptcy (which is probably the most beneficial result for Nintendo, as they would be able to get everything for a low price as they were already partially responsible in case of bankruptcy)
@Znake Oh, they r prioritizing software over hardware, but they don't care about sales, the only Xbox-owned IP that is on the Switch is Minecraft (Ori belongs to Moon Studios, Microsoft only owns the publishing rights), they care about the ecosystem, your subscriptions, your xbox live data, that is why the games r not on Switch.
They have already said they would port games to other platforms IF the platform accepts Game Pass, Rare legacy is something that u want, and u could have access through Xbox Cloud or on ur Switch if Nintendo does what they want.
They don't care about console sales, or games individual sales, just about making Game Pass standard and profitable, the easy way is locking content on the service and forcing other platforms to do what they want.
"people usually ask me about releasing one individual game or another. And what I say is I want the full Xbox experience to be something that we deliver"
"I can see why the disruption of Game Pass is not something that they want RIGHT NOW"
Meaning, they will want it later. Now u just need to remember that Satya Nadella said that they will buy more big studios, and that keeping content exclusive to the subscription is really important.
Rare and it's legacy r not important, they r just part of a larger plan, and every time they release a cross-platform platform game the whole Nintendo community scream "Halo/Gears/Forza is coming soon" horrible for marketing, only put pressure in the Xbox studios/PR/community, nothing on Nintendo what they want is you asking for Game Pass on Switch, not games.
U can think otherwise, but people like you are fueling the rumors of Rare Replay on Switch for 6 years and so far nothing.
@Znake Brand association (Rare = Xbox) and brand recognition, r worth more than money, kepping the game as exclusive et Nintendo fans know thst if a new reboot/Remake is made it will be exclusive, thst is free marketing. That is why a lot of Nintendo fans r hyped about The Initiative, they a rebooting a Rare IP
@TSR3 Do u expect the original Zelda on Xbox/PS5? If no, then ur logic don't makes any sense, why would they release the Xbox brand symbol on a console without Game Pass?
Just 'cause they release an Indie studio from the exclusive contract? (Cuphead)
Because an indie studio find a loophole in the exclusivity deal? ("New" Super Luckys Tale)
Or because a third-party indie studio ask them to authorize the release of IP that Microsoft only owns publishing rights on another console? (Ori IP owned by Moon Studios é publishing rights by Microsoft)
@GrailUK He basically said they don't want to release games on platforms that don't support Game Pass, that Microsoft games (Xbox + Bethesda) will only be released on platforms with Game Pass, and they would lovo to put Game Pass on Switch/PS5 but Nintendo /Sony dont n want it.
@Entrr_username Maybe they removed Forza Horizon 5 from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase list to avoid repeating, or when talking about a more Xbox-focused audience, Halo has more audience, but overall Forza hits a larger audience.

Re: Two Xbox Games Get Nintendo Switch Release Dates
@Serpenterror Let's not pretend that Microsoft wants to convince users to migrate to their console, they are just killing the console in disguise.

@Savage_Joe Not only that, Rare had problems with crunch, that IS what led them to 2 mass resignarion after PD released.
