Ever since Miyako and Foxconn created the Wii, the culture over there has strayed from making the Nintendo exclusive games that people love, and it's migrated towards inventing the next cool new gadgets. They're chasing the success of the Wii. And for what? So they can have the next cool novelty item in the gaming market? They're not gonna "change the way people game" forever. As it is, Nintendo is already losing 3rd party dev support. Some AAA developers have already said they won't make games for the NX unless it follows a more traditional format that would facilitate porting their games. Plain and simple, these AAA developers don't need the money or the hassle. It's nice to have Nintendo around, but unless you're a desperate indie developer who needs a big chance, Nintendo isn't exactly necessary anymore. I don't need to buy a whole new console just to play Zelda and Mario. I love the games but it's just not worth it. If I was gonna a spend a bunch of money on a new console it wouldn't be an NX. It would be a new PC rig or something.
