Unfortunately, the latest PGO update and shut-out to Pokevision seem to indicate that Niantic is changing things for the worse.
The popularity of the game revolves around simplicity. Walk, Catch, Battle. Often times that does include using "helper" tools like Footstep indicators or Pokevision. It's a great game concept but it shouldn't be a "difficult" experience and these changes will likely be the 2nd wave of people exiting the user base.
But with that gone then I wonder if the delay for the band is because it makes the game too "easy" to simply click a button.
It's another BS article capitalizing on PGO that blogs use as click-fodder. They're saying "Pokemon Names" but these are all already established names so it's really not a big deal.
And let's face it. These names are far less embarrassing to the kids than being named after Hunger Games characters. (Or being the 18th Sofia in class.)

Niantec licenses the Pokemon franchise, creates their own game and Nintendo gets all the credit for it.
Yeah. This was pretty much the equivalent of falling asleep on the beach and having a cargo ship transporting cash and In-n-Out burgers sink right at the shore.
It's a shame that both Nintendo related games are built on hype rather than longevity.
They both have an initial spike of interest but after a week then answering pointless questions and physically walking around to capture Pokémon gets tedious and boring.
1) why aren't the Inkling Amiiibos dressed in their in,I kale Schoolgirl/Samurai outfits? While the new color offerings are much nicer than the first round, it still is a pretty dull figure
2) Marie and Callie. I must have them.... Even if they do nothing. It really is a shame that we are popularizing a marketing idea that is more about taking our money than enhancing the game. But these two Amiibo look pretty awesome so how do you say no.
My huge problem with Splatfest... Why can't we keep the shirts (like we would an old rock concert shirt)?
We spend hours ranking up the shirt, acquiring Queen/King status and helping our team win. But once the feat is over then -poof- the shirt and all our achievements are gone?
There should be a gallery or something to document our Splatfest History. Because without that then much of this feels like a waste of time.
