@Caryslan Late response, but yeah Japan does not tolerate gore as much as the West, yes. Gory depictions of demons and non-humans is tolerated more though, hence why stuff like DMC and Doom aren't nearly as censored.
As for DBS, the reason why is because it's literally made for children - the audience is more broad than DBZ.
@Ulanda I said MK is the most popular IT'S EVER BEEN, which is correct as the sales figures show. Maybe instead of being a smug little prick, how about you learn some reading comprehension.
People get mad when games get tons of DLC and season passes, but when they don't they get mad at "developers not supporting the game". Make up your minds people!
I'm sorry but if you're paying over $1k for Pokemon cards, pieces of paper with cartoon animals printed on them, then you only have yourself to blame for being ripped off.
This isn't really a capitalist problem as it is a consumerist one.
I thought Netflix Castlevania was pretty good. Was it the best, most faithful adaptation ever done by the Gods of Animation? No. But it was a welcome approach I never thought I'd see and it helped Castlevania be relevant in the 2010s and bring in many new fans, which I approve of. The series can only go up from here.
People think Japan is an R-rated paradise, but it really isn't. For example every Resident Evil game was heavily censored, and that's a Japanese franchise!
I cannot wait for Kazuya, Tekken is one of the best fighting games and a character from there was well overdue. Hoping with a Terry situation in regards to fanservice/music tracks.
The most overrated Nintendo console. It was an amazing system back in its day but going back to N64 games is incredibly rough, especially when compared to the SNES and Gamecube that came in-between it. Awful controller, super blurry visuals and very little variety.
Fortunately most of the essential N64 games have remakes/remasters.
@Kriven I disagree, big names help solidify Smash's status as the celebration of gaming history. Besides, remember that the first third-party character in Smash was Snake, when there's only one MGS game on Nintendo.
Fun fact: of all the Smash third-parties, the one with the most Nintendo legacy is Hero. Dragon Quest has been on Nintendo since 1986, almost single-handedly made the Famicom and Super Famicom a massive success, and you can play the entire series on 3DS. Bet ya didn't know that huh?
@Northwind You make a decent point - Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are on Switch and both frequently show up on Nintendo systems. Tekken is more PlayStation, hence why Heihachi showed up on PlayStation All-Stars.
HOWEVER, Kazuya isn't "balanced combo-centric middleweight shoto archetype". That goes to Paul Phoenix, who even has a gi and a quarter circle move. Kazuya is a Mishima not a shoto, which is a completely different archetype.
@MrGawain "the final one has to be a very popular character like Banjo and Kazooie"
I like B&K but they're not "popular" outside the Nintendo bubble. Their last commercial successes were more than 20 years ago, not at all comparable to the likes of Minecraft, Final Fantasy, Tekken and other juggernauts represented in DLC.
Well deserved. Tekken is Bandai Namco's best-selling franchise (yes, even more than Pac-Man!) and while I'd prefer Jin I can't argue with this. Tekken music and mechanics in Smash are guaranteed to be great.
Rondo of Blood is the best Castlevania ever and to see people reduce Richter as "the guy from Smash" is very sad. Not the biggest fan of Netflix Castlevania, but I'm VERY intrigued.

@Ulanda "pandering to a group, that will never touch the game at all", only to be "hip with the kids"
Buddy, MK10 and MK11 are the best-selling games of the series. MK as a video game franchise is the most popular it's ever been. What are you smoking?

Bitmap Books are superb, I recommend their books.

@YoungLink64 @BloodNinja Yep, Censored Gaming made a video explaining why:

Re: Tekken's Kazuya Arrives In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tomorrow, 29th June
@NeonPizza Mortal Kombat is banned in Japan and has been since MK9, so it's never happening.
Besides, Tekken is the better series anyway. MK is known for its gore, Tekken is known for its gameplay.
Re: Dante, Shantae And More Join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate As Mii Fighter Costumes
Dante's deconfirmation stings, he's not my most wanted or anything but he would have been cool.
Oh well, good to see a new Mii costume that comes with a song. More Mii costumes should do that.

@GregamanX Harsh, but at least you played Tekken before so your opinion is fair and not ignorant.

Yeah, he should add more boring Scrimblo Bimblo cereal mascots instead.
