Re: Nintendo's Ability To Ban Switch 2 Consoles Has Landed It In Hot Water

@CommanderTaco The migswitch dumper copies the game from the game cart exactly as it is on the switch cart (including the unique identifier attached to the game). By that definition, then the game file contained on the switch cart is a rom and Nintendo is in violation of their own TOS. I get that people download roms with that unique identifier removed for switch game and copy them to the migflash, but the law is pretty clear that a copy you make of your own games are legal. I don't think Nintendo should be banning their customers that are actually paying for their games for using one.

@sethfranum you might be right about what is is "mostly" used for, but the should Nintendo ban those use it legitimately? Definitely not. I also get there are other ways to carry more games around, but with all of what I own on one cart and having piece of mind that my game collection is at home safe from loss or theft is the reason some purchase it.

@Anti-Matter Not necessarily. I'm sure many do use it for pirating games. I've used it on my switch one so I can carry all my games on one cart when I travel. I think Nintendo needs a difinitice way to confirm that the user is in fact using a pirated game before they ban a console. I'm not sure how they would do that, but it's unfair to those who use it honestly and still get banned.
