I just read NL's review of the NAmerican version. It sounds like this'll be a pretty cool and surprisingly (for a DSi title) well-made game. Looking forward to a comparison between the EU and NAmerican versions.
Cool too to see (one of) the developer(s) posting here. Always nice to see personal attention like that
Hmm. I can't really tell how the game is supposed to work from this video.
"A unique new type of puzzle game"? Match-3 games have existed for a long time now, and not all the variants that have been tried work well, so "unique", "new", "innovative" are not necessarily selling points.
I don't agree with this review. If the game doesn't even have variable bouncing angles, then it is clearly a very lazy implementation not on par with today's standards of the genre. 4 out of 10 is too generous for something like that, even before taking into account the other shortcomings.
Oh, hey, is there a page where I can see which staff member has what nickname? I see people use them now and then, but without clarification I can only guess who they mean.
Check your sources before making announcements. A Yahoo Babelfish translation of the Bloomberg source shows nothing about an October release date, only the September announcement. I recommend again Babelfish over Google Translate.
Eh, I never filled the 32 pages of my green notebook, so why should I care about 128 pages? Maybe you can add a feature of typing text with a keyboard, and export options to SD card and regular email? That would be features I'd be willing to pay for again.
Well, about 10-15% of people are left-handed and they'll be inconvenienced by the placement of the buttons and analog thingy. At least the 3D effect can be turned off.
Lol. Why is this Pachter guy so big anyway? I haven't read about him predicting anything accurately yet, so why do gaming sites keep reporting his words like he's some kind of oracle?
More DS games that have internet multiplayer modes, and virtual console for DS would be great. Offline the DS is already the best, so they don't need to focus on that more than they already do.
Wow, they finally retired Nobuo Uematsu? No offense, but it's time the FF franchise got some fresh blood.
ETA: I just checked both the list of DS games on Nintendo's site, and the FF:4HoL press package, but both only give the N-American release date, nothing for Europe.
I've never played the original Ōkami (I don't have any big consoles, only handhelds), but the art style of Ōkamiden looks gorgeous, and the gameplay interesting, so I'll definitely check this game out Pity that it's such a long way off yet.
Seiken Densetsu 3 was such a great game. Even today it would stand out for its replayability value (six different openings and three different endings, plus four class choices per character). Please, Squeenix?
Hmm, combined with the 24/7 online thing mentioned in the Nintendo presentation, I hope this doesn't turn out to mean every game is going to check in with big brother to verify its legitimacy before starting.
There's not much of an increase in resolution on the bottom screen actually. 256×192 (DS/i) → 320×240 (3DS). That's only 25% more pixels per dimension.
I hope they move the indicator lights back to the hinge in the final design. I like it that I can see them without looking away from the action on the DS/i, unlike the PSP where you have to wonder how long the power light has been blinking before you notice it.
Not sure I like the more angular design yet as shown on Nintendo's site. Maybe it has to grow on me yet, maybe it'll change before launch.
A telescoping stylus? That sounds like asking for trouble. The DS/i one is large enough, isn't it?
Yep, definitely going to be aqua for me. Fire engine red is too hot on the eyes, and graphite too boring.
The D-pad looks a little awkwardly placed. Maybe it would be more comfy if the D-pad and analog button were reversed, like on the PSP?
The top and bottom screen not having the same size looks weird, but maybe I'm just too used to the DS/i.
A slider to control 2D↔3D? But they just moved from a slider to a +/- switch for audio volume with the DSi. Seems like a step backward to do make something like that analog.
Is that inner camera on the bottom edge of the system? The hinge seemed like the ideal place for it (if you must have one at all), the bottom not so much unless you want to make photos of your chest.
Online 24/7.. What about battery life? It annoys me that the wifi light of my DSi remains on even when I close it. Actual wifi communication all the time must be even more draining.
Nice colors though; much better than the sucky cyan and lime shades of the DS/i. I wish Nintendo would realize people outside Japan want a choice of colors too.
Meh. Europe doesn't get a lot of games, so we just import the NAmerican ones. I've had both FF II (for GBA) and FF IV (for DS) for quite a while already.
@CinemaxGames - You make it look so easy How do you decide where to place the various drum sounds and bass/lead notes? I don't understand how to pick the right spots to make it sound like a melody instead of random junk.
Yeah, they make it look very easy, if you already know what you want to accomplish. Selecting the different instruments would be tricky if you didn't know that though. And the part where they changed the volume or pitch or whatever of the drum loop still looked a little too complicated.
I dunno.. I'm still kinda scared that I'll try it out and end up giving up in frustration after half an hour :/
It has to be widescreen to accomodate the halving of horizontal resolution when the 3D mode is turned on. It would be cool if the system comes with two outward cameras so we can take stereoptic photos as well

Phantasy Star, please?

Still no same sex marriages possible? Count me out then.
Re: Puzzle Fans Can Get Creative With Hidden Photo for DSi
The idea is interesting, but the video needs more in-game footage and less randomness.
Re: Radiant Historia is Waiting for You in February 2011
Reminds me of Avalon Code a little, but without a playable female character and turn/grid-based battles.
@edhe: There is no Atlus Europe, only Atlus Japan and Atlus USA. That's why we so rarely get the good stuff here.

EU release please

Will NintLife be reviewing/comparing the updated version of Thorium Wars? I'd like to read your thoughts.
Re: 3DS Details Unleashed at Japanese Press Event
I want SNES and PS1 games on virtual console. Surely this handheld has the CPU/graphics power to play them?
Re: 3DS Launches Feb. 26 in Japan
Where's my purple 3DS? And the redesign?
€220 is rather steep too. I might hold off until there's some awesome games that make it a necessity.
Re: October is Spook Month on Nintendo Life
Meh. Halloween is only on 31 October. Why do we have to have the whole month spooky themed? :/

Ooh, I have Mighty Flip Champs. Maybe I should try playing it again. I doubt I'll get much further though. It's pretty frustrating.

Interesting mechanics. I hope the gameplay will be fun too

Re: Review: Nanostray (DS)
I have this game. It looks very cool, but it's just too hard for me. I can't even get past the first level ;_;
Re: Tetsuya Nomura Wants to Make The World Ends With You 2
Yep, definitely one of the better DS games, so I'll look forward to a TWEWY2
Re: North America Gets Rytmik from August 23rd
Cinemax promised there would be another contest too, so y'all have even more to look forward to
Re: Review: Giana Sisters DS (DS)
Personal computer? I thought it was a Commodore 64 game originally? I remember kids talking about it, way back.
Also, these screenshots don't look all that similar to SMB. Unless all platform games look too much like SMB..

Re: Review: Primrose (DSiWare)
The Art Style games are nice, but I wish there was Bejeweled 2 (not Twist) for DS/i.

What is it with game reviewers and groan-inducing taglines? :/

Re: 3DS Form is Final Shape, says Hideki Konno
So these issues will remain until the redesign?
Sheesh, why repeat the mistakes of the past (DS phat, PSP)? So you can sell a redesign of the same system to the early adopters? Bleh
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th June (Europe)
Looking forward to the reviews
Re: Say Hello Flower to this Hello Flowerz Trailer
Wow, it looks like it has quite a lot of content for only 500 NP. Plants are fun to care for, and flowers are pretty. Maybe I'll get this.

Re: 3DS Online Content to Push, Not Pull
I'm a little wary of companies accessing my system. What prevents them from putting unwanted stuff on it, or deleting something?

Dammit, Squeenix. Stop neglecting the Seiken Densetsu games and release them for DS already.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th June 2010 (North America)
Dangit. I want Bejeweled 2 on DSi, not Wii. I would gladly pay 1000 points for it.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th June 2010 (Europe)
Meh. Europe doesn't get a lot of games, so we just import the NAmerican ones. I've had both FF II (for GBA) and FF IV (for DS) for quite a while already.
Re: Third Parties May Reveal Their Own 3DS Games at E3
So, do we know what CTR stands for yet? My guess would be either 'Centaur' or 'Citrus'.
Re: Embark on a New Adventure With Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
Autumn? It was released in Japan last year. Slooow.
And where are FFs V and VI? Are they waiting for the 3DS or something?
Re: Rytmik
@CinemaxGames - You make it look so easy How do you decide where to place the various drum sounds and bass/lead notes? I don't understand how to pick the right spots to make it sound like a melody instead of random junk.
Re: Struggling With Your Rytmik Masterpiece? This Video Wants to Help
Okay, I gave in to the hype and bought this program. Now where do I place the drums and guitar notes to make it sound like music.. :?
Re: Struggling With Your Rytmik Masterpiece? This Video Wants to Help
Yeah, they make it look very easy, if you already know what you want to accomplish. Selecting the different instruments would be tricky if you didn't know that though. And the part where they changed the volume or pitch or whatever of the drum loop still looked a little too complicated.

Re: Rumour: Curious DS Motherboard May Reveal 3DS Widescreen
It has to be widescreen to accomodate the halving of horizontal resolution when the 3D mode is turned on.
It would be cool if the system comes with two outward cameras so we can take stereoptic photos as well
Re: Make Beautiful Music, Win Nintendo Points with this Rytmik Contest
I wish I could be cool and make music like that, but I've never even played an instrument
Also, 300NP is the total. Only half of it goes to the 1st place.
