@LordJumpMad While I agree they need to start doing something different, the gameplay in Zelda is ageless. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just too samey now.
I'm glad Nintendo is trying to do different things, but I hope it's for the best.
Kinda disappointed by this news. I would've rather had the art style of Yoshi's Island (and the gameplay, to boot). That said, a new Yoshi game is cool, and I don't doubt it'll be good.
Why Wind Waker? It's the one game that will look good forever because of its style. Hell, this new HD edition will probably age faster than the original. I feel like Twilight Princess would've better suited the HD update.
Not entirely sure what the point is :/ The first game is so broken and hard to play, and the second game has such an improved vocabulary that playing the first game is completely pointless.
Aside from Smash Bros, I still don't have a good reason to care about the Wii U. Especially when 2 of the biggest releases for the console are games I already have.
We can all guarantee that Pac Man will be playable, which I must say I'd quite like. I'm happy to hear Namco seems to actually care about this project and isn't just doing it for the cash.
@SKTTR I agree. There should be NO moderation on posts between friends. If they do that, then I don't understand why they're marketing this as a more mature console (or at least one adults can thoroughly enjoy too), because they're still forcing these "child locks" on us.
@chiptoon: Agreed. Absolutely absurd that they would do that. Honestly, I think it comes down to laziness. And fanboys, don't put laziness past Nintendo; remember, they actually SAID that the only reason there are 2 toads in NSMBW instead of Wario and Waluigi or something is because they were more like Mario and Luigi and were easier to program.
I don't get why everyone is suddenly against NSMB, but I dig those games a lot. Especially if this one still has 4 players (or, maybe 5. Hey, Nintendo?). The new high detail backgrounds look great. Totally excited for this.
I wonder if they did all of this so that they could get it out of the way for much bigger announcements during E3? I know it's just hopes and dreams, but something about this is giving me a feeling that we'll be seeing something great at E3. I'm crossing my fingers for F-Zero.
Oh please, great Miyamoto in the sky, give us F-Zero!
Sounds good, actually. I like the screenshots thing, and I think sending quick texts will be much easier with the touchpad than sending them with the onscreen keyboard the 360 uses is.
It's funny that a lot of people have been completely dismissing this game and assuming it's going to be bad. I thought the first game got good ratings, didn't it?
I MIGHT buy it. I just hope when he says "The boating is quite challenging to do" he means that it's quite different from driving, and not that the controls are abysmal.
Also, Kirby and Mario and yet no Zelda? What the crap, Nintendo? Do you know how much money you'd get doing that? Granted they probably did that specifically so Ocarina of Time 3D would sell :/
The game is hard, yes, but I think we all need to stop thinking of challenge as a negative point unless it's just unfair. I think new Zelda games need to be more like this one. Which do you prefer, honestly? Having no idea what to do, and having to explore to figure that out? Or knowing EXACTLY what to do, and yet having a sidekick spell it out for you all the same?
The game can be unforgiving, and I won't lie, that does damage my enjoyment a little bit at times, but at the same time it makes me respect the game more.
@FonistofCruxis True, but then again those were 3D (or 2.5D). IF they do make a Super Mario Bros. 4, I have a feeling it'd be like Mega Man 9, and be 8-bit. It would make sense, considering at this point Nintendo must know how much people like retro titles, what with the VC and all those remakes and such.
I believe that is an excellent philosophy, but it's a little hard to take it seriously when games like "Ninjabread Man" are most prominent on their consoles.
For the record, everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that Banpresto is involved, and they are best known for an RPG series called Super Robot Wars.
@Neram Very true, but at the end of the day, if your console isn't strong enough to play the good games the other consoles are getting, then power might have been a good idea.
Yes, it is. If the WiiU ends up being significantly less powerful than the others, as the Wii was (which I can almost guarantee won't happen, but still), the 3rd party support will once again drop.
Tell me, how many new games have come out for the Wii this year? Exactly. I'm not a graphics horse by any means, but it's more the ability to play the games the other consoles will get. If the WiiU just can't do it, then we'll be stuck with first party games and the occasional good 3rd party game again. And while those games are usually fantastic, they can't carry the console in terms of lastability.
I adore RUNNER more than any WiiWare title I own, and yet I'm unsure of this game. I agree with others saying it looks kind of ugly. C Video lost his charm and just looks weird. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I don't know... I feel like HD is not something they should've gone with.
I got Nintendo Monopoly A Super Mario Bros. shirt. Mario Kart Double Dash A plush Coin Block that makes coin sounds when bumped. A Sonic bobble head. And Mario and Luigi in LEGO form (except Mario had two of the same arm :/ )
I think you're missing the point, 10 and 8. It's not making the documentary again but with actors, it's going to be a fictional version of the documentary most likely played up for laughs. The documentary and the mockumentary would be 2 completely different films.
Back when I still owned a Genesis I owned Sonic 1, 2, and 3, and Spinball. Me and my sister would play Spinball a lot because she wasn't very good at the others, but I loved them. I remember the first time I turned into Super Sonic. It was amazing seeing just how fast you could actually go. I always loved when the screen itself couldn't even keep up with me. It was almost like breaking the rules. I played it all the time, for years, up until my Genesis got thrown out. Some long years later I got Mega Collection on the gamecube, and the nostalgia was immense. Although there's been plenty of duds over the years, my love for the blue hedgehog hasn't diminished, and it was definitely a big part of my childhood.
Don't go against the touchscreen just yet. While not confirmed, if it IS true, then Nintendo will make it work. As Stuttering Craig from ScrewAttack always says, Nintendo is smarter than us, and they will find a way to "wow" us with whatever it is they have.
@7: Part 3 would most likely be Link to the Past, considering Miyamoto said he'd love to do that one.
But yeah, my first thought was that it just meant Skyward Sword was going to be pushed back to Cafe. But it could very well be a new Zelda comp, considering they just did that for Mario. But if it is a compilation, they better learn from their mistakes with Mario's collection, because I don't just want to have that Gamecube compilation again. It better be something REALLY worth it.
@34: That's hardly saying he hated it. And considering the praise GX got, I think he was probably referring to sales rather than quality. Either that or he was upset that it wasn't easy.
& @33: GX got excellent reviews, so I'm willing to bet a lot of people would like Sega to make another one.
@3: Agreed. Retro has become the go-to for ...erm, retro reboots. And let's face it, they'd do an AMAZING job and we all know it. Plus, I worry that if it's given to anyone else, no only will they probably ruin it (Remember the last time Retro DIDN'T make Metroid?) but they'd probably make it too easy, and F-Zero is meant to be hard. And considering Donkey Kong Country Returns, Retro can make hard games.
I can totally see the LBP thing, but LEGO not so much. And I agree, there's like 10 of those themed lego games and ALL of them are almost 100% identical, just with different skins.
Why are the bonuses in EU always freaking awesome, and then NA gets, like, a downloadable costume? sigh ....... I want an ocarina ........ I don't even HAVE a 3DS and I would've pre-ordered this for that! I'm dead serious!
It's probably just a way of artificially lengthening the experience. That said, I really don't think it's that big of an issue. Many games have done similar things. It might suck for those who wanted to start right in MQ, but is it really gonna kill you to replay one of the best games ever made again? And personally, I think it'll be fun to play through the original again just to see what everything looks like in newfangled 3D with updated graphics.

Yes please! I would love to see a more fleshed out, more expansive, polished ZombiU in the future.

Re: Wreck-It Ralph is in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Hopefully Banjo will still be in the Xbox version. Actually, it'd be really awesome if Conker was added.
Or maybe Master Chief. Wouldn't be any more weird than Danica Patrick.
Re: New Super Smash Bros. Is a 'Big Priority' for Namco
We can all guarantee that Pac Man will be playable, which I must say I'd quite like. I'm happy to hear Namco seems to actually care about this project and isn't just doing it for the cash.
Re: Feature: The Best Soundtracks on Wii
Dude, Ain't That Funny is awesome. Love that song.
And to everyone mentioning the lack of Zelda, in my opinion, Skyward Sword had next to zero memorable music.

And by "Summer 2012" they mean THE VERY LAST DAY of Summer, and that's only a 15% chance.

Re: Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS
So people basically just hate everything that comes out now, don't they?
Re: Review: I Must Run! (DSiWare)
Clever tagline
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda (Wii Virtual Console / NES)
@XDalleX My boyfriend and I recently beat it together, without the internet, by making our own map. Old games shouldn't be played any other way.
Except for Simon's Quest, because there's a difference between lack of hand holding, and convoluted mess
