Re: Reggie: Friend Codes Return on Wii U, But They're Better

Kaeobais

@SKTTR I agree. There should be NO moderation on posts between friends. If they do that, then I don't understand why they're marketing this as a more mature console (or at least one adults can thoroughly enjoy too), because they're still forcing these "child locks" on us.

Re: E3 2012: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gets Co-operative

Kaeobais

@chiptoon: Agreed. Absolutely absurd that they would do that. Honestly, I think it comes down to laziness. And fanboys, don't put laziness past Nintendo; remember, they actually SAID that the only reason there are 2 toads in NSMBW instead of Wario and Waluigi or something is because they were more like Mario and Luigi and were easier to program.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Finally Arrives Online with Wii U

Kaeobais

I wonder if they did all of this so that they could get it out of the way for much bigger announcements during E3? I know it's just hopes and dreams, but something about this is giving me a feeling that we'll be seeing something great at E3. I'm crossing my fingers for F-Zero.

Oh please, great Miyamoto in the sky, give us F-Zero!

Re: Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed "A Different Game" to Mario Kart 7

Kaeobais

It's funny that a lot of people have been completely dismissing this game and assuming it's going to be bad. I thought the first game got good ratings, didn't it?

I MIGHT buy it. I just hope when he says "The boating is quite challenging to do" he means that it's quite different from driving, and not that the controls are abysmal.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda (Wii Virtual Console / NES)

Kaeobais

The game is hard, yes, but I think we all need to stop thinking of challenge as a negative point unless it's just unfair. I think new Zelda games need to be more like this one. Which do you prefer, honestly? Having no idea what to do, and having to explore to figure that out? Or knowing EXACTLY what to do, and yet having a sidekick spell it out for you all the same?

The game can be unforgiving, and I won't lie, that does damage my enjoyment a little bit at times, but at the same time it makes me respect the game more.

Re: Nintendo Buys Supermario4.com Web Domain

Kaeobais

@FonistofCruxis True, but then again those were 3D (or 2.5D). IF they do make a Super Mario Bros. 4, I have a feeling it'd be like Mega Man 9, and be 8-bit. It would make sense, considering at this point Nintendo must know how much people like retro titles, what with the VC and all those remakes and such.

Re: Talking Point: Is Wii U's Power Really That Important?

Kaeobais

Yes, it is. If the WiiU ends up being significantly less powerful than the others, as the Wii was (which I can almost guarantee won't happen, but still), the 3rd party support will once again drop.

Tell me, how many new games have come out for the Wii this year? Exactly. I'm not a graphics horse by any means, but it's more the ability to play the games the other consoles will get. If the WiiU just can't do it, then we'll be stuck with first party games and the occasional good 3rd party game again. And while those games are usually fantastic, they can't carry the console in terms of lastability.

Re: BIT.TRIP Runner 2 Could Dash Onto Wii U

Kaeobais

I adore RUNNER more than any WiiWare title I own, and yet I'm unsure of this game. I agree with others saying it looks kind of ugly. C Video lost his charm and just looks weird. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I don't know... I feel like HD is not something they should've gone with.

Re: The King of Kong Remake Could End Up as a Mockumentary

Kaeobais

I think you're missing the point, 10 and 8. It's not making the documentary again but with actors, it's going to be a fictional version of the documentary most likely played up for laughs. The documentary and the mockumentary would be 2 completely different films.

Re: Talking Point: Your Sonic the Hedgehog Memories

Kaeobais

Back when I still owned a Genesis I owned Sonic 1, 2, and 3, and Spinball. Me and my sister would play Spinball a lot because she wasn't very good at the others, but I loved them. I remember the first time I turned into Super Sonic. It was amazing seeing just how fast you could actually go. I always loved when the screen itself couldn't even keep up with me. It was almost like breaking the rules. I played it all the time, for years, up until my Genesis got thrown out. Some long years later I got Mega Collection on the gamecube, and the nostalgia was immense. Although there's been plenty of duds over the years, my love for the blue hedgehog hasn't diminished, and it was definitely a big part of my childhood.

Re: Nikkei Corroborates Previous Wii 2 Controller Rumours

Kaeobais

Don't go against the touchscreen just yet. While not confirmed, if it IS true, then Nintendo will make it work. As Stuttering Craig from ScrewAttack always says, Nintendo is smarter than us, and they will find a way to "wow" us with whatever it is they have.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo to Reveal New Zelda Game at E3

Kaeobais

@7: Part 3 would most likely be Link to the Past, considering Miyamoto said he'd love to do that one.

But yeah, my first thought was that it just meant Skyward Sword was going to be pushed back to Cafe. But it could very well be a new Zelda comp, considering they just did that for Mario. But if it is a compilation, they better learn from their mistakes with Mario's collection, because I don't just want to have that Gamecube compilation again. It better be something REALLY worth it.

Re: Firebrand Games Would Love to Develop an F-Zero Game

Kaeobais

@34: That's hardly saying he hated it. And considering the praise GX got, I think he was probably referring to sales rather than quality. Either that or he was upset that it wasn't easy.

& @33: GX got excellent reviews, so I'm willing to bet a lot of people would like Sega to make another one.

Re: Firebrand Games Would Love to Develop an F-Zero Game

Kaeobais

@3: Agreed. Retro has become the go-to for ...erm, retro reboots. And let's face it, they'd do an AMAZING job and we all know it. Plus, I worry that if it's given to anyone else, no only will they probably ruin it (Remember the last time Retro DIDN'T make Metroid?) but they'd probably make it too easy, and F-Zero is meant to be hard. And considering Donkey Kong Country Returns, Retro can make hard games.

Re: You Must Finish Ocarina of Time 3D to Take On the Master Quest

Kaeobais

It's probably just a way of artificially lengthening the experience. That said, I really don't think it's that big of an issue. Many games have done similar things. It might suck for those who wanted to start right in MQ, but is it really gonna kill you to replay one of the best games ever made again? And personally, I think it'll be fun to play through the original again just to see what everything looks like in newfangled 3D with updated graphics.
