This is shaping up to be such an awesome game... which I still plan on purchasing but the concept of not allowing co-op or competitive multiplayer with a friend only randoms because of leaderboards are the typical dumb ignorant moves I'm still not understanding by nintendo.
@yuwarite You know how the gaming business is, its all about who can do what the best. Imo trophies are much more satisfying and actually have value compared to achievements. However, if Nintendo introduced a system that rewards or glorifies you 100% Splatoon or Mario via wallpapers or discounts that would be awesome
I cant believe the hate achievements/trophies are getting! Beside Nintendo I game mostly on Playstation, and will hunt trophies if its a game I enjoy and wont take anything outrageous such as an extra 50 hours or some online crap. However, the majority of people here saying crap about them being worthless is false. Not sure about xbox but on playstation you get incentives such as merchandise, coupons and PSN discounts on the various trophies you collect via the sony media store (such as 20%) off your next purchase. Playstation also sends you a nice congratulations email and artwork when you platinum their flagship games.
With all that said I would happily welcome an achievement type system on the Switch. I thought the WiiU had something going (sort of) with the stamps but that was not a true integrated system. I personally would like to have a virtual representation for 100% a zelda/metroid/mario game.
@nab1 thats how I feel too. Plus if Salmon Run was always opened, that takes more of a player base away from playing Turf Battle, Ranked, etc. Considering you need 8 players to start and no one likes waiting, anybody wanting to play online will be in those lobbies.
Not the first time people from Nintendo assumed what their customers do and how they should play. It's the same reason we yet to have or may never get a trophy/achievement structure with Nintendo. Nintendo response was that consumers will begin to play games not in accordance with how they should play it if they are hunting trophies. That is so lame
Idk, I hated it at first but have grown to like the rarity of it's style that it rotates maps/limited time salmon run. I am also guessing it evens the battlefield when you consider map rotation and not able to become stupid wealthy in abilities you unlock in salmon run
This is neat, my favorite franchise is The Legend of Zelda and it offered some Zelda games with 15% off that was not mentioned. This truly is "just for you"
Wow I am SHOCKED to see no flagship franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Mario, DK, Pokemon. My list is personally very different but its nice to see so many other great games out there.
Considering you can purchase the New 3DS for a pretty good price these days I would strongly recommend it, especially for those who do not currently own a handheld. There are at least 15 must play titles to keep someone busy the rest of the year until we see what the NX may or may not offer.
@TimeGuy I also got my Hyrule Warriors Legends plus the collectors guide which is also discounted via amazon. Can't find too many places with 20% off for new games
