Re: Feature: Treasure Games That Need Switch Ports Or Sequels

@Sourcecode @Darlinfan Read your back and fourth. And while I agree, that its ok to have opinions and what not, Darlinfan is 100% right in this case. In most other cases maybe with nintendo first party games that keep getting re-ported, and saturation is at and all time high, I can see that port after port being unnecessary and maybe long winded. But we are talking about treasure games here, as Darlinfan pointed out, some of these games, have either not been ported, or are stuck on older hardware, or other platforms that are not accessible to others (I just finally was able to get xbl guardian heroes, having been more of a ps and nintendo guy up until that point), or priced astronomically. Emulating saturn/Dreamcast/N64 aside from the ethics is not for everyone, not easy, and in some cases to do correctly incurs hardware costs.

And if we are here as gamers, or gaming historians, some of these great games, that still hold up, might get relegated to obscurity if not brought fwd. Bangai-o or Sin and Punishment, or even the older games like alien soldier, or a good example, is Rakugaki show time. Younger gamers or people who did not have genesis/megadrive may not know the brilliance that is gunstar heroes, luckily thats pretty much available on everything. Mischief makers on the other hand is only available officially on, n64 (licensing issue nightmare, but the point stands). Ports, Remasters of Movies, reprints of books is a good thing. Keeps the history alive, and future game developers/movie creators/Authors can be inspired by the past, and make new classics.

@BulbasaurusRex @XyVoX Funny thing is M2 the team responsible for the sega 3d classics are also responsible for the gba and I believe snes vc, maybe all the wii u vc emulator infrastructures. Nintendo should just commission them to do some 3d remasters of whatever games that fit that criteria. Mind you if you look at M2's blog and see their process, it is very technically challenging procedure with a lot of blood and sweat. So it would be suited to only certain style of games. But could be awesome.
