Im really hoping for something special from Nintendo. I've got wii, ps3 and 360 so I can get the best of all worlds. Just watched microsofts e3 show nd I actually fell asleep for half hour!!!

I was so underwhelmed by what they had to show. I've been playing the 360 less and less over the last 6 months or so. I went through my school days with a nes and snes, really wanna see Nintendo back on top again with proper innovative enjoyable core games.

Can't get it to fit without cheating but I want pilotwings (along the lines of the snes and n64 ones). If its not announced at e3 I'm going on a hunger strike!!!

Off topic here but i totally agree with billy, Nintendo need to change the name of wii u. Get away from the wii name completely, Over the last year I've seen hundreds of posts from people saying the name is awful. Nintendo also keep going on about getting the hardcore gamers back {like the nes and snes days}, we all know thats not gonna happen if everyone associates the new console with the wii. Nintendo also need to ban publishers from making countless party games aimed at under 5's.

As has been mentioned already, we will see 2d and 3d Mario on this system. 2d Mario will be a good launch game with Mario in 3d O vision probably about a year after launch. Also on a side note, I really hope Nintendo get the online right. I have both a 360 and ps3 as well as wii, the online is fantastic, but so many people are as*holes. I really think the online Nintendo community would be so much better.

Being a Nintendo old boy (playing since the 80's), my dream launch would be a Mario game, starfox, pilot wings, f zero and a remake of super castlevania!

I can't believe this guys nearly 60! It doesn't seem right. I've been playing games sinc the early 80's so know how long he's been around, but I still think of him as a 30 something guy. Can't we just put him inside a giant Tupperware container and make him last forever?

I remember getting my GC on launch day with luigis mansion. Loved that game along with a few others, but I never really got into the GC that much. I put it down to the fact I had so many great years with the snes (got that pretty soon after the uk launch too), and I was hoping for those kind of games. At the time I wasn't really wanting the big open world 3d stuff. Even today I still prefer snes games to a lot of the stuff out there, but that's totally off topic now. All in all the GC wasn't a bad little friend

I want this game so much RIGHT NOW!!! But I've gotta hold off for a week as I'm going to the Maldives on the 27th. It's a 10 hour flight so I need something to keep me going. This game will be it. Off topic, can anyone recommended (if there is one) an extra long life battery for the 3ds?

Exactly what i've been thinking since they announced the name of it.
A consoles name should not make people decide whether they like it or not, the problem is though, a lot of people out there will be thinking this is just another add on for the wii.

They really need a new name for it, something which will make it stand apart from the wii. keep the wii going for the kids and people who just want party games, and the new console for gamers who will be buying the marios, zeldas etc {how many of those games were sold on wii compared to how many wii's were sold}

I've been playing games since the mid 80's. Had most of the systems which have been released here and i have wii, ps3 and 360.

Yes i like call of duty, so i must be a core gamer right!
Hang on though, the last few days i've been playing nsmb and dk returns. So does that make me a casual gamer?

I sold my wii late last year as I never used it, so still haven't played the new goldeneye, dk returns, galaxy 2 etc. Now it's £100 I'm tempted to pick one up again. I need convincing though!!

i decided to go n buy this. got the scart to hdmi upscaler. plugged my snes into it. what did i get? an even worse picture!!

You'll probably see for the next year or so, alot of DS games being released with the option of playing in 3D {like killzone 3 on PS3}. I think the switch from DS to 3DS will be a slowish one. I do love me 3DS though!

Whatever shape and form the wii 2 takes, all i want is bloody good games being released. Im sick and tired of seeing so many party games on the wii. Just normal fun games like the nes and snes had.

Oh and if it could forge money and pop it out the disc tray, that would be nice too
