@WiltonRoots Videogame music by major studios is special, though. Just like movie and TV music. You think Nintendo or Disney are giving the composers of their music partial ownership?
Instead of just paying them a giant lump sum in return for full ownership?
Why are people who make a living selling things based on Nintendo's IP always surprised when Nintendo DMCA them?
I'm also side-eyeing the person who claims their sheet music was correctly licensed and that the original artists were being given royalties for said licenses.
Are we expected to believe that Nintendo doesn't own the rights to all of their music wholesale with the composers basically only being hired guns? Nintnedo may pay the original composers royalties, but any licensing fees would go straight to Nintendo.
Which means that person is either lying or getting scammed and paying licensing fees to the wrong people. My money's on lying.
The Game Awards failed because they're a sham and clearly bought. "Cyberpunk 2077", a 2020 single-player offline game, was nominated (and won!) the Best On-Going Game category despite the fact that every single other nominee was a Live Service game under the excuse that CD Projekt Red had recently released DLC for it.
Then, the DLC, a game expansion and not a stand-alone gamd, was also allowed to be nominated in the Players' Voice category.
I wonder how big of a donation CD Projekt Red made to the Game Awards to receive these honours.
I find it odd on how nobody's commentibg on the fact that not only do Switch exclusives make up about half of the entires in this list, many of them are seversl years old.
Just goes to show that Nintendo knows how to make games people will be hyped to buy many years down the road.
We're never getting Sora. And even if we did, he would not be a Square Enix rep because his righte are 100% owned by Disney. The fact that Disney owns Sora wholly is precisely why we won't see him in Smash.
@geox30 Poor security? It's been a year and there's yet to be any reliable way to hack your console when just a last generation each console was softmoddable or chippable within months.
The Nyko dock is bricking consoles becayse ut tries to force Switches to do things they cannot do and, apparently, also aren't providing Swutches with enough power.
I use plenty of 3rd party peripherals just fine. USB-C charging cables and even a charging dock (it's a stand with an USB-C dongle to connect to my Switch and in the back there's an outlet for an USB-C to plug intona charging source. As all the dock does is basically be an extension cord, my Switch plays and charges just fine.
Reportedly (I don't have one), the Nyko dock forces the screen on the Switch to stay on even in docked mode. This is most likely what's bricking consoles.
@Spectra: There are many things that are unpatchable because of how the hardware works or how integral the issue is to the running of the code. There's an item duolication glitch in "Breath of the Wild" that's been known for 8 months or so, in fact, it was the firdt ever item duplication glitch found for the game, but it cannot be patched out because it relies on the same thing the game relies on to keeö the game running if there's a memory overflow.
