@Ladasta Hades thankfully runs great on Switch. I'm pretty picky when it comes to stable framerates in these types of games and I never had any issues with Hades. Ofc there might be an occasional dip but it's overall a stable 60fps.
Amazing game. Yes, the experience will be better if you have played the Sky trilogy (which I recommend) but playing this game will probably work better to persuade people into playing the previous arc then taking my word for it =)
I actually finished the PC version less then a week ago. It's an experience I can definetely recommend. It conveyed strong emotion while not overstaying its welcome. Glad to see it on switch too. The framerate did indeed look bad in the footage from the presentation but I wouldn't worry too much about it since the game is heavily focused on the narrative and sound. Of course a stable framerate is always preferable but unless you have a steam deck, playing this portable on switch in a dark room with headphones will be a really nice experience that I heavily recommend.
The most terrifying thing is that the Steam Deck actually ends up being CHEAPER in Sweden where I live then the upcoming Switch OLED.
I have the OLED pre-ordered but I'm going to switch it (no pun intended) to a steam deck instead. I have a fully functional Mario Edition switch but I play a lot in handheld so I was going to upgrade anyway. However I'll still be able to use my current switch AND play basically everything except ps5 exclusives handheld after I've gotten the deck. A no brainer really.
@Danondorf All the games in the trails-series have tons of text. Much of it is optional and depends on how deep you want to go down the rabbithole but the huge amount of detail in the world and even the minor NPCs is part of what makes the series great. There's tons of gameplay to be found but it's also heavy on story and cutscenes so if that is not your cup of tea you might want to spend your time on some other game.
Either way, before you jump into Cold Steel III (no matter what NISA say) you should at the very least play Cold Steel 1 and 2 first. They are currently available on VITA/PS3/PS4/PC.
My dream is to have the entire Kiseki series on Switch. I played the Sky trilogy, the Crossbell duology and the first two Cold Steel games on PC but had to switch to Ps4 after that because IV was not released in PC yet. However, the journey was the best I have ever done in gaming and I can't recommend it enough. The world building and characters are amazing and while it IS possible to jump in from Cold Steel I really recommend starting from the beginning if possible.
Since then I bought Cold Steel III physical on switch and I expect my Cold Steel IV pre-order to arrive tomorrow or Friday. But as I said earlier, I hope one day the entire series will be on switch due to the portability. Cold Steel III technically plays better on Ps4 and PC but next playthrough will still be on switch for me because of the handheld capability.
