It's 3 days before Christmas. Nintendo had the opportunity to market the hell out of this thing, and they didn't. I'm prepared to see many shelves stocked with unsold- oh who am I kidding, most retailers don't even have a Wii U booth by this point.
If things keep going the way they are, the Wii U will almost certainly be a distant third, only selling as much as the Gamecube (or even less).
I mean, look at the facts; it's sold about 1.75 million units in America so far, and the PS4 has already sold 1 million units in 24 HOURS. If that isn't a terrible sign, then I don't know what is.
My mom preordered the black Wii U from Gamestop today. Even though I would much prefer the white color, the extra features the premium one offers seals the deal for me.
It's a fine price, really. I never expected anything under $299.
Perhaps eventually Nintendo will back out from the console industry and focus solely on handheld systems if this financial loss continues. Hopefully that won't be the case.
Nintendo is suffering because of it's public image of being a "kiddy game" and their competitors are starting to market towards the casual audience, stealing Nintendo's user base. I have a bad feeling the Wii U will not do much to solve this issue.
I'm paying a maximum of $350 USD. I'm thinking that's gonna be the price, too. If it's anything more then I'm out.
$350 is a little steep for a Nintendo console, honestly. I mean, part of the reason the Wii sold so well was because it was cheaper than competing consoles, and therefore more appealing to families on a budget...
$249-$299 would be really nice if it happened, though.
I feel as if something like this would be better off on the eShop. I definitely won't be purchasing this, seeing as I already have all 4 games on my Droid and I never really liked those games anyway. (except for Space. If they had Space in it then maybe I would have considered purchasing it.)
I hope the 3DS XL has a better D-Pad this time around. The original 3DS's D-Pad is horribly clicky, same goes for the buttons. Why can't they just use the buttons from the DS Lite?

Re: Nintendo Might Not Be Making More GameCube Controller Adapters at the Moment
Wha- are you effing serious? It's like they WANT to lose money.
If this is true then I sure as heck ain't getting Smash now.

Re: The Wii U Is Region Locked, Of Course
And HOW!!!!
Totally expected.
Re: Wii U Pre-Orders Selling Out in the U.S.
Thank god I preordered my Deluxe. It was a really close call, and I was becoming worried that I couldn't afford it.
Re: Nintendo: Wii U Basic Bundle Designed To Attract Core Gamers
Pff hahahaha. I don't think anyone's gonna get the Basic, unless they stuff something better into that bundle.
Maybe the people who can't afford $50 bucks more, but that's it.

Re: Take a Sneaky Look at The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia
@0LD_SK0OL_PUNK Get one while you still can. They're cheap as dirt.
Re: Take a Sneaky Look at The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia
HOW THE HELL DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS.
PREORDERING RIGHT NOW.
Re: Fluidity Is Your New Club Nintendo Reward
Don't care if it's a repeat, I'm getting it.
This looks really interesting.
Re: Actually, New Super Mario Bros. 2 May Not Take 45 Minutes To Download
It would take me 25 to 40 minutes to download for me, if my crappy Internet is any indication
You also have to take into account the stress on Nintendo's servers when the game comes out. It might turn out like Diablo 3 all over again.
Re: EarthBound's Virtual Console No-Show Could Be Down To Sampling Issues
By now I don't think we'll ever be seeing Earthbound on VC in any shape or form, because changing the soundtrack is something too drastic to do.

Once again, I am NOT surprised.
