Like others, I don't see a MK9 coming out now. MK8 is practically perfect, and if they did driver and track DLC (like with Smash), most of the 22 million owners would quickly pony up the $25 to get it. So instead - what is the chance of Mario Kart Maker? That may be waaaaaay to difficult for both for programmers and gamers, and Mario Maker 2 didn't sell as planned, but it would be amazing to see if they could pull it off.
Simple mindless carnage! They get my money. Reminds me of a fun time waster I used to play on my iPhone called (I think) Zombie Highway. It will be great to have when killing 20 minutes waiting on something/someone.
@Dan_Dan They know Isabelle is a fan favorite so I'm sure she will figure in heavily to build hype closer to release. As far as the map, in the Treehouse they introduced something called "Nook Miles" which you earn like airline miles. No clear explanation, but I can only assume they allow you to visit other islands, so the full map is probably massive. They were only showing us what players will see in the first couple of hours of play.
@PBandSmelly True - but this will be a high def AND portable version. Plus, there is every change they will add some tweaks and surprises to keep the MP fever going for the new one. I'll be a day one buyer.
As long as the keep the frame rate up, I can certainly live with some slightly dumbed down graphics. The trailer looked amazing, so if they can get it 75%+ of that quality with no stutter, they have my money. I normally don't try to figure the thread count of my opponent's shirt during a fighting game, and I'm guessing that since they are also involved in the PC version, it should be pretty. I'm really hoping they nail it. The more "Panic Buttons" there are out there, the better the chance Switch owners have of seeing more third party AAA releases on the platform, and once there are enough resources with the skill set, we should see more same day releases across all systems.
I will wait for the inevitable sale, then get it. I loved SSX back in the day (especially 3), and while this one doesn't look great, fingers crossed the game play is good.
