@Kintovere the thing with the MIG cart is it uses ROMs, so even if it was legitimately backed by the owner. Sadly that goes against Nintendo's TOS ( they prohibit making digital backups of games you own). Either way it's sliced the MIG cart is against their TOS. The concern i have is would something like a game switcher also trigger a ban. It really sets a precedent for being wary about buying 3rd party hardware since you never know what can trigger a ban.
@Jar316 actual consumers are concerned because it affects the 3rd party hardware situation as well as the refurbished market making more pointless E-waste.
@NFrealinkling Agreed, but at the same time I am sure you can see how this is contributing to E-waste and will only hurt the consumer more. I agree in the fact that the account ( and to an extent the hardware) should be banned from online play, but banning the console from the E-shop is what is making the system a brick. With practically majority of carts either being E-cards or switch 1 titles with an upgrade patch to switch 2. Then the consumer is unable to access and play the games they paid for.
We could go on about the Mig Switch, but in the end that is unsigned code running on the switch. The bigger issue is as a youtuber I saw put it. It makes the consumer scared to try anything that isn't first party. Just like Apple users are they get scared to waste money on anything 3rd party because an update might render the expensive better working cable as non legit. Same with Switch 2. I wanted to buy a game switcher after seeing how convenient it would be to leave my switch docked and be able to easily swap out games. Now with the switch 2 I am feeling uneasy about doing so because I fear something in Nintendo might trigger the game switcher as a rom or something even though I would be using actual cartidges I own.
@brendon987 as I read in a comment about a review a newcomer did for 4 ( the comment section roasted the reviewer for complaining about how he wasn't given enough backstory not to be lost lol) you can get away with starting at 3 since it is a break in the story introducing a new generation ( mostly) of characters.
@NEStalgia To each their own. I will admit ( in my personal opinion) once you have played 3 or 4 the combat system of the first 2 do seem pale in comparison lol, but sometimes old fashion is fun to go back and play sometimes.
I will also say trying to marathon the trails games ( playing) to me at least would get a bit boring as once you have played the first to TITS game ( haven't finished 3rd which is a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the saga we have access to) you have seen the games formulatic foundation ( 1st game is linear ( do a job, then serious thing goes down), second game starts out linear then kind turns to open world) sadly all 4 Cold steel games follow this formula ( still love them, but it does kinda drain one at times and with the first two games I did have to take a break before finishing them lol).
@JasmineDragon don't know about the mascot ( never really played KOF, so not too familiar with character personalities), but I can see from a company perspective and trying to keep investors aboard lol.
@Dakotastomp if women really want to raise a fuss about something in the gaming community it should be how ( supposedly) in Japan they came out with a FF7 remake compodiuem where vital information such as Tifa's "personality" size is revealed lol.
@Dakotastomp the worst part of all the anger is that they are getting mad about the slapping, but it's to promote a fighting game. There is going to be more bad touching when you have a man and a women fight ( sexual or not) lol.
@MidnightLaces It's a Grey area lol. On one hand they are breaking the law by nullifying the TOS and going into the Switches code and then selling tools to others to also break the TOS. On the other hand it could be seen like Emulators which are supposed to be more for educational and homebrewing purposes. Sadly most people would use hacked devices to pirate rather then homered or legit copy.
That is why hackers usually state on their software they don't condone piracy and the intended use is just for digital backups.
@0L1V14 Quite frankly I find the whole drift issue lawsuit to be quite annoying lol. Have had a switch from day one and still have not encountered a drift issue with my joycon ( though may have just been lucky). A person did try to sue Microsoft for a controller drift with the 2nd gen ultimate controller or whatever it was called again lol. Don't know how the case ended ( or if it is still ongoing), but I feel the person shot their own case in the foot as part of their argument included third parties which the thesis for their argument was Microsoft trying to drain money from customers with constant controllers breaking down or something to that effect.
@JohnnyC I am against piracy as well. I don't fully agree with Nintendo on this i do agree they have full rights to stop the switch hacking. If the switch was a legacy console like the Wii or PS3 at this point then I could see a reason for people to be upset, but as it is a current ongoing system leaving the hacking community be would be very bad for their business.

@GrailUK They are bringing the Trails of Zero games to the PS4, but once again it appears to be Japanese only.

@Yanina I don't think they made that much. Just nintendo trying to set a point like they did with the ROM community.
