Nintendo has appointed Shelly Pearce as its UK marketing director. The role was vacated earlier this year when Dawn Paine left to become marketing vice president at Universal Pictures.
Pearce joined Nintendo 14 years ago in 1998, and has been the head of European PR since 2002. Senior managers James Honeywell, Ben Taylor and Jo Bartlett will now report directly to her.
This is an exciting time to be joining the UK team with two major hardware launches on the horizon, Nintendo 3DS XL on 28th July and Wii U later this year.
I started my Nintendo career as part of the UK team and it’s great to return as we start this new chapter in our company’s history.
A warm welcome to Ms Pearce from all at Nintendo Life.

Thanks!
(PS. Guess which ones resulted in far better sales. The good ones! Quelle surprise...)
Aww I thought it was James...
Good! I heard Nintendo wasn't selling as well in the UK. We need a new approach.
They're shifting people around to make room for James. Soon he will be King of Nintendo.
I hope we'll eventually see one of these reports about James Newton. :3
This position will eventually just be a stepping stone for James Newton as he climbs to the rank of President of NOE. And then someday he will rule the world.
Give us James! Give us James!
@Neram:
I suspect as well that this is all part of James grand master plan. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years he will become President of Nintendo and buys the SEGA brand name and releases a new console called ‘Mega Drive U’.
Now do some good marketing by introducing special offers on the eShop
Lets hope Shelly will do us proud.
