@Cotillion other then her hair, I'm not sure where you're seeing a lot of hard angles. Granted, her hair is a major point of the game so I can see why it is a big deal.
I don't think her hair will really be that angular the whole time. I think they're hyping it up for the box art and overall celebratory nature of the release and success.
You can usually tell an art direction based on the logic of removal of elements. If you were to remove the "hard angles", this trailer would still carry exactly the same theme and emotional purpose.
Contrast that with Wind Waker, where the aesthetics define a lot of the identity.
Neither is good or bad. But I think the indicator here is dramatic flair and not full art direction
@legendcoworker I don't know if I would call it "suggestive" but it's definitely more on the teenage-side of reference and humor. If you can't play them now because of your age, I really encourage you to remember them when you get a bit older because they're fantastic games.
Nintendo is better poised to dominate the gaming market again right now than anyone else. They've endeared themselves to most every demographic, console and mobile developers, and are developing INTO hardware that is getting cheaper instead of trying to bleeding edge into future hardware that's ultra expensive.
Anyone that doesn't consider them a major contender right now is really stupid.
EA's coders are so incompetent, lol. It's not hard to make these games just as good on the Switch. This is what happens when you're a bad developer and rely on hardware bloat to compensate for poor code.
I see this as a win. Nintendo would be known as a homewrecker if they allowed you to play against people you could drive over to and stab at night. Remember Mario Party.
@Farbringer No. I don't think this developer should be vilified. I don't think they meant any ill will. They were, however, incontrovertibly, very stupid to do this.
@EagleDelta2 I'm not sure I can take the word of someone foolish enough to even do this as credence for quality penetration testing. I understand your point though.
@Pod especially in something as easy to exploit as Ruby. I do not know why any developer would pick that for this. Might as well include a JavaScript runner with global filesystem access.

Re: Future Versions Of FIFA On Switch Could Be Legacy Editions, Just Like FIFA 20
@norwichred It's very valid to hate on EA because this isn't a matter of the Switch being underpowered.
EA's developers are very bad at their job. They RELY on the bloated hardware of the PS4 and X1 to make up for that.
Any developer with the slightest real world experience knows this. That's why they have such poor developers - real ones don't want to go there.

@ancientlii Extremely astute point

@Cyber_Akuma As a game developer myself, let me tell you a little secret about security promises.

@Farbringer My mistake. I must have misread.

@SeanP2500 Script interpreters are always a convenient attack vector.

Re: Indie Game Removed From Switch eShop After Dev Reveals It Contains A Hidden Code Editor
@Farbringer Well I'm saying he was an idiot not a criminal. I don't think he deserves contempt but he definitely brought the problems down on himself.
Re: Indie Game Removed From Switch eShop After Dev Reveals It Contains A Hidden Code Editor
@Balta666 100% correct
Re: Indie Game Removed From Switch eShop After Dev Reveals It Contains A Hidden Code Editor
@SeanP2500 Any time you include a script interpretation system, you have to lock it down tight. It could absolutely cause problems.

@LetsGoSwitch Ruby is a great language but on the fly security is not one of its strengths.
Re: Indie Game Removed From Switch eShop After Dev Reveals It Contains A Hidden Code Editor
@Farbringer That may be true but it was still very stupid to do.

@HumanDog No he didn't. You can just install Ruby normally and it's ... much better. He literally provided nothing of additional value.
