For me, it all depends on the game. Mario, Sonic, to some extent Zelda, and other similar simple games are great to replay. Bigger, more involved games like the Arkham series, Assassin's Creed, and other open world games with huge stories are titles I prefer to play once for the experience
I think one of the biggest problem is that, starting with the Wii, they've been focusing too much on gimmicks. First the motion control (love or hate), then the GamePad (pretty much useless apart from off-screen and a few games) and now there are rumours about this being a hybrid. Just make a standard console that appeals to third parties and is easy to make games for. Instead of thinking "how will this work with the GamePad" they should think "this is a great idea, in it goes". They make it so much harder for themselves. I get the whole uniqueness, but sometimes the basics are the best
The biggest mistake was the fact that it was all based on a poorly implemented gimmick. The Wii did it very well with the motion controls because they followed through with the idea and stuck with it. They nearly abandoned the GamePad very early on, making it seem pointless. The lesson Nintendo needs to learn from this is to stop trying to be unique with half-baked gimmicks. Just give us a console and a controller, that's all we need. Sure, they could make some motion control-centric games, but have that be like an add on, where most games are normal D-pad and buttons games. Also for the love of God actually market the NX soon, please
@Kirk "I do not believe how a human being acts in their own time, as long as it's within the law, should be any of my company's business whatsoever" ah yes, because calling everyone from Singapore stupid (also known as "racism") is totally legal and within the law. That puts a bad light on the company and might deter potential customers, damaging the business. That's the reason why what their employees say on the Net is the company's business
