" BUT, gaming is hardly a "proper artistic medium", more a waste of time. I admit this all myself, why can't you?"
Who gets to decide what is and isn't an artistic medium, you?
Art is, for me, a human creation that envoques an emotion, a thought or inspiration.
Compare some modern " art" to a game like shadow of the colossus, or a game such as journey to Coldplays latest beige drivil.
Music, paintings, sculpture, books, films and games are all "proper" artistic mediums, some good and some bad, and it's entirely subjective.

Nice bit of snobbery there mate, creating good tunes on limited musical chips is quite a feat and should be applauded.
Quite a few final fantasy tunes resonate with me as much as other tunes.
Oh and portals end tune is up there.
@Raptor78 You are quite correct, he talks about it to Richard Herring, on "richard herring leicester square theatre podcast" One of the better ones too, worth giving it a listen.
Altho I can't argue with where they put zelda and mario, my respect for Edge was lost long ago. Giving a half page review with 6 out of 10 for gta 3 was so hipsterish it stunk of moustache wax. They retracted and said it was a typo, but I dont believe that for a sec.
@1UP_MARIO At least it isn't a messed up pal version. The playstation 1 with its letterboxing and 50 frames per second. Tho if you used Scart and a chipped console you could import.
This brings up bad memories of the ps2 not allowing dvds (a main selling point) to be viewed via Scart. Cheap move by Sony. Thankfully someone released a dvd "cheat" that sorted it.
I can see my switch replacing my vita as jrpg and indie game goto. Sorry vita you did me proud, you poor unappreciated, over expensive memory card user you.
I'm starting to regret buying a switch last month, still on zelda with Mario waiting in the wings and so many good games comming, I just can't find enough time, I have to work and eat and sleep. Universe damn you, you sexy little hybrid you.
Give em chance to repackage it as "the glorious leaders switch, personally designed and made by the glorious leader....... And no one else can play with it except him."
It seems to be winning back a few old Nintendo fans tho (I'm one of em). I always had a Nintendo console as my second console, up to buying a Wii, that put me off. I wasn't interested in the Wii U either. (got a 3ds tho.) Something about the switch dragged me back. Maybe it's the some stellar games, or my slight jaded attitude towards the AAA type games with loot boxes etc. Whatever it is I bet there are a few like me to keep the sales up.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Are Trending Well Above Wii U, and Could Even Catch the Wii

Supply and possibly timing.
The supply of switch in Japan is notoriously low, so I'm lead to believe.
