Re: Pandora's Tower Reaches Europe on 13th April

BlueBandanaJake

Oh awesome!
Im here in NA, but I'm glad its seeing a release outside of Japan, that's definitely a great sign! I think of the three games everyone was clamoring for, this was the one I really wanted to get my hands on. A release in Europe is a step towards a release over here in NA, so here's hoping that comes to fruition

Dude, Balloon Kid is awesome, its Balloon Fight with actual side scrolling levels. There's a color version of the game too, but I think it may have only come out in Japan? Not sure, buts its good fun, just as much fun as Mario Land or Kirby's Dreamland, I honestly never expected it to see a release here

Re: Mario and Sonic Have a Valentine's Day Date

BlueBandanaJake

Hey Sega... you know how Capcom kinda dropped the ball and everyone is feeling like they're missing out on some high flying sky pirating adventures?? Maybe they were really hoping for an older property to finally make a triumphant return? Dont you have something like that to kinda fill the void (and totally cash in on someone else's mistake)? Hmm...???

Re: Monster Hunter 3G Definitely Doesn't Have Online Play

BlueBandanaJake

Guess everyone's spoiled by the times, which isnt something to be ashamed of really. The PSP games were the same in that they didnt have online, but I guess im a little disappointed by this news too. Still will totally buy it if it comes stateside though, online or not (but here's hoping)

Re: Review: Wario World (GameCube)

BlueBandanaJake

The game was kinda mediocre, but it did provide some fun, I can agree with the score, Wario has had much better games.

That being said though, I owe this game for introducing me to WarioWare XD

Re: Feature: BIT.TRIP SAGA vs. BIT.TRIP COMPLETE

BlueBandanaJake

I own all of the WiiWare versions of these games and loved them to death, but that being said I can play all of them on Wii and it'd feel pretty silly to buy them again for the same system, so this makes Saga feel more attractive to me, maybe somewhere down the line I'll buy Collection too

Re: Analyst Predicts Monster Hunter Announcement at TGS 2011

BlueBandanaJake

It would be emotionally irresponsible for me to let loose and become hugely excited over this rumor that has very little actual backing, so instead of creating a massive disappointment in the event that this turns out to be untrue by way of generating extreme hype, I am going to make some toast.

Re: SEGA, Aksys and Konami All Use Permanent 3DS Save Data Too

BlueBandanaJake

@Mickeymac
When that happens I'll be upset, but I'm not gonna be outraged now until that happens, so far the trend appears to be only games whose saves arent really that important. If Bit.Trip Saga and the Pacman and Galaga games also had this feature it wouldnt really be too bad because they're of the same mold of gameplay.

And honestly, whats so bad about eating my own words? They came from my mouth in the first place.

Re: SEGA, Aksys and Konami All Use Permanent 3DS Save Data Too

BlueBandanaJake

Again, I still dont see the big upset for all of this, they only thing those games save are unlocks and high scores, it's not like they're files in Ocarina of Time (which would be terrible if you couldnt start a new game in).

With Monkey Ball all the levels are available, and all the medals are unlocked, and that's it, its not that huge a deal. I was always against buying used copies anyway, I kinda dislike the idea of Gamestop making a cool $20 for little to no cost to them.

But then, considering that this ISNT that big a deal, then this seems like a weak way to combat that at all, which makes me feel that this is a mostly pointless strategy anyway :/

Re: Review: Mega Man 5 (Virtual Console / NES)

BlueBandanaJake

I like to refer to MM5 as "No One's Favorite MegaMan" since just about everyone will have a title they favor over it (my favorites are 9, 7 and 2), but that doesnt make it a crappy game. Personally I do love this game, many of its tracks are some of my favorites (Title, Stage Select, StoneMan, NapalmMan, Wily Stages, Wily Capsule are really cool). And alot of the level gimmicks are pretty fun too. I think this review was spot on, and anyone who loves the classic Megaman games should definately try this. If MM2 or 3 didnt sell you though, this one isnt going to change your mind.

Re: Darksiders II Launching in 2012 for Wii U

BlueBandanaJake

This seems to be the trend with Nintendo's E3 presentations: the year new hardware is introduced there arent alot of games announced, because that's not the point right now, the point is to let it sink in and imagine what's possible with these new ideas.

Next year we'll see Darksiders II and much more software playable once the WiiU is ready to be launched, that'll be the truly big presentation. I cant wait.

Re: Iwata Hits Out at Smartphone and Social Network Game Developers

BlueBandanaJake

The fact that 200 to 300 million people who play Facebook games doesnt disprove what Iwata's opinion in the slightest, if anything it makes it more easily applicable. Thats alot of people who are attracted to these low value games, and that's unfortunate. The guys are Zynga are only interested in profit, and less much interested in providing entertainment and fun for people, it's not their passion, as Mr. Iwata spoke about in his keynote. Nintendo will always have the upperhand, because they've always got their passion backing their software.
