@MagiKnight I see your point. Then, I'd raise you another criteria point. Link the email, serial number, and IP address to the constraint. Sure you can have your ISP give you a new IP address each time, but that's significantly more annoying.
To your statements, I just don't think that this will indeed stop pirating as people will find other workarounds. This also, causes the harm to the second hand market. Although I just had a thought, Nintendo should release a serial number checker to ensure that the console is in good standing or not.
This is an attempt to combat piracy, of course. I think that it's a good approach to a problem, but could be better. I think the combination of an email and a device serial should be the indicator if an device is banned or not.
So even if you make a new email and use the same switch to try to insert the MiG again, it will just ban you again, instead of bricking the entire console.
