Just added one to my basket.... then had a bit of clarity and realised that £40 is too much for to pay when I have been using a regular controller perfectly well (if not better) since the service launched... ...and decided not to buy it. I may regret that, but hey ho!

I definitely don't need this, not even sure I really want it. But I bought one anyway. Nintendo is a FOMO expert and I'm a sucker for it!

HOLY CRAP YES! Had to use my work mate's card (luckily he wanted one too) as they really dont like my details, the card itself and Gpay it just comes up with your details are not valid. Haven't had a paypal account for years.

Freakin' hell, I just bought them. Randomly clicked on my bookmark to see and saw them. Bought and paid immediately.

Came here to see if there was an article and I'm surprised they've stayed in stock for the 20 or so mins between this article being posted and me placing my order.

The controllers are still greyed out on when you browse for them in Exclusives but click through and they are available to add to basket

Unfortunately, I can't order it and get it shipped to Germany. The German website is under maintenance for a week now and the site says it will remain that way for a couple of months O.o

I was gonna get one then realised that it’s just gonna be boxed as I don’t even play n64 games on the switch much even tho I have the expansion pass. If do play the 64 nes/snes I usually just boot up the original hardware. I know most would not have the original hardware but like how these service games are over 25 years old, would you come back to your switch in another 25 years to play you n64 games and will it let you.

I’m getting one hoping it can be modded to use on original hardware one day.

Importantly, the SNES NSO controllers are also back in stock to order, which they haven't been in over a year - just managed to order it now to complete my NSO controller collection!

@MJL As @Trebor stated… are you sure you bought an NSO SNES controller and not a wired one for the SNES Mini? @Olliemar28 may want to change that affiliate link ASAP before people rush and make that mistake

@Yarec123 Yeah, that doesn't work. I got mine by just checking Nintendo's site regularly. Make it part of your morning ritual for a couple of weeks and you'll find one.

Had one ordered payment was pending then received an email off Nintendo that my payment would be going back into my account due to an error.

Nintendos website is the only place I seem to receive this error it’s incredibly frustrating as these controllers are really hard to get.

Nintendo lost a customer today and I don’t think I’ll bother signing back up to NSO as I’m struggling to play the n64 games with my pro controller.

Honestly, how do we get notified when these controller become available? Nintendos website never sends me emails to notify me despite me registering for a notification!

Off topic, but the only way I can see GameCube games being added to NSO is if they sold GameCube controllers (with the analog trigger buttons).

Just ordered a second one, not to be greedy (or for scalping) but for some two-player GoldenEye, WaveRace and Mario Kart. 🤗

@BulkSlash Never got one last time but I’ve bought 2 as well for Goldeneye 007, and the other games. I was going to just buy one but thought 2 would be needed for that classic multiplayer action. Licence to kill, pistols only on Aztec.

Sadly at 40yrs old I’ll struggle to get 3 buddies round for an all night Goldeneye bender, but I’ll be able to get one over for an evening of sophisticated Goldeneye-ing, so 2s good lol

I was registered to be notified when this is restocked. Apparently, it came back into stock this evening, but Nintendo didn't bother to notify me, and by the time I tried to add the controller to my shopping basket, it had already sold out. Again. I've been waiting for nearly a year now.

I checked the site three times today, throughout the day. I can’t believe I’ve missed these again.

The issue is they allow 4 per customer, the scalpers are having a field day.

I’ve been trying so hard to get one of these for 11 months now! The prices on eBay are absurd. I refuse to line the pockets of those people. Bidding into the hundreds.

This is such a pain in the arse.

I gave up waiting for Nintendo and fighting scalpers with the limited supplies they put out. I ordered the brawler 64 controller from kickstarter. It should be arriving around February

I've determined my retro-bit controller works with the games on Switch, so no biggie anymore.

The stock restrictions by Nintendo to drive prices and demand on this controller is disgusting.

Still fighting with them to get my replacements from the second restock which went "missing" on the way to the post office (Royal Mail never received them)

@CaptChaos Another problem is that the scalpers can always create a new Nintendo account to order more with. Honestly I think at this point Nintendo should start checking the IP address a person is ordering from instead of the account being used. Either that or limit it to one controller per account.

@Sir_funkington I'm in exactly the same boat! 😅 The good old days of four player GoldenEye like back when I was at uni are virtually impossible to schedule these days. 😥

@TheGoddesseshero IP address is easy to workaround too with a VPN.

1. Nintendo need to make more.
2. Nintendo should have forecasted better. Great they got stock around GoldenEye announce, but clearly still nowhere enough.
3. They should limit it to 2 Controllers. Not 4.
4. They should limit those 2 Controllers to customers based on the shipping and billing address.
5. They should only ship to customers with a matching billing and shipping address.

Really not difficult.

They clearly only care about selling them all.

@TheGoddesseshero yeah totally, what’s worse is this scarcity is actually creating additional casual scalpers. I’ve seen eBay accounts set up solely for selling Switch N64 controllers. They have zero rating and do all they can within the images to prove they’re genuine.

It’s madness, letting people buy 4 or as you mention, possibly into the twenties! People are more than doubling their money, I guarantee anyone who gets there in time, 70-80% I buying 4 with the intent to sell 3.

Should absolutely be capped at 1-2. It’s absolutely essential to have one of these controllers to play some of the N64 games.

Latest update: my "Replacements" which never even got a tracking number or order number (therefore I think never existed) have now been returned to the warehouse and I have to have a refund. I asked for an email address to complain to and they gave me one that didn't exist. What a complete farce, for two months I've been waiting for my replacements as the originals didn't even make it to the Royal Mail (got a tracking number but they are still awaiting the actual package).

Do preorders wouldn’t be bad as well. People would know that one or more will be theirs and won’t turn to scalpers.
I asked why the “notify me” function doesn’t work and they replied three times with the same text saying that they cannot tell when stock will be restocked. I’m not sure why that function is there, then. Useless people

Im pretty sure I won't ever actually get one, im probably better off buying a reconditioned n64 and the games i want to play. Im not trying to be bitter about people buying multiples or going for seconds, but as a subscriber to their expansion pass... I wish I would have been offered the ability to purchase at least 1 when signing up, all I need is 1. The 12 or 13 being sold to the same people or online scalpers every time is getting old.

Im glad some people who genuinely want one are able to get one, and N64 Games are made for 4 players so I get it, it's more of an annoyance with Nintendo.

Luckily managed to grab one for myself and another for my mate. At one point the page changed to 'these are on backorder' for me, then it went through successfully 🤷🏿‍♀️

Apparently clicking the "Notify Me" button does nothing as I've never once been notified by Nintendo when these have come back in stock and only find out when they're gone again...

It was silently restocked today, managed to get mines by pure luck
