My Nintendo continues to add regular physical rewards, which are more obtainable than ever courtesy of weekly Nintendo Switch Online Missions that allow us to top-up our Platinum Points.
The latest reward to land in Europe is an EarthBound Beginnings Notebook, below.
There are some nice details there for fans of the game, and it has a mix of normal pages for notes and also manuscript sheets, fitting the theme rather nicely:
Log your own journey with this EarthBound Beginnings Notebook, containing eight sheets of manuscript paper for musical notation and 56 blank pages for regular note-taking.
It's only 400 Platinum Points, and in the case of the UK it's limited to one per customer (and will be delivered for £1.99 if your order on the store is under £20).
EarthBound Beginnings Notebook
At the time of writing this is only available in Europe, but we'll keep an eye on the North American My Nintendo store for updates.
Are you tempted to pick this up?

This would be cool if they came to NA. Weren't there Mother 3 versions of these things a long time ago? Or am I misremembering?
Still haven’t gotten to playing Earthbound but that looks amazing. I might get it if it comes to NA.
As the only ever western merch for the best game of the Earthbound Trilogy (besides the amazing vocal album, of course) I will certainly get this if it comes to the US.
Outside of the Smash Bros amiibo, this might be the first piece of official Earthbound merch for the UK, no?
Me: Well, nothing new coming out from Nintendo for a while that interests me merch-wise. These N64 keychains are probably a safe bet to blow my points.
Here's hoping they come to US, but not 'til I've had a chance to accumulate some points!
That's really sweet honestly.
On a similar note, does Beginnings have an online manual similar to what they did for Earthbound? I'd love to play it after beating EB but with how convoluted these games can apparently get, I would like the assurance of knowledge just to be safe.
@Fizza EarthBound isn’t that convoluted, other than stuff like waiting 2 minutes behind a waterfall to progress with no hints to it. EarthBound Beginnings is a little weirder though. I don’t know about an official manual, but there are plenty of walkthroughs. https://www.thonky.com/earthbound-beginnings/
Official EarthBound merch is crazy infrequent. I got it immediately, though now I might not have enough silver points for the next batch of icons...
Nintendo endorsed Earthbound merch in the year of our lord 2022?!
"Rewards" you pay more in shipping than the trinket is worth!
Is "Dear reader, I redeemed it" meant to be a Jane Eyre allusion? There's no "dear" there.
THIS SO COOL BUT IT'S NOT IN THE US GAAAAAAAAAHHHH
Yhea, I want that!! 😂❤️
I have 390 of the coins apparently! Anybody know how I can get more? I don’t have a Switch.
@GravyThief You can get quite a few playing their mobile games
Really dumb they're locked behind the Platinum Points thing. I'll buy pretty penny for official EarthBound merchandise.
@EarthboundBenjy Do you try and get every Icon? I have only gotten a few myself.
@Fizza
No official manual in English unfortunately. But as mentioned there are guides and walkthroughs available online. I just recently finished Earthbound Beginnings and while I did it mostly on my own, a few glances at a guide were very helpful and time saving. I loved the game, but would have enjoyed it much much less if I had to sink many hours into trial and error and finding out what the items did in game.
