Firefighter Blastoise Is Now A Thing Thanks To Pokémon Unite

Pokémon Unite continues to deliver fantastic, meme-worthy variations of the series' famous cast of characters, this time giving the gift of Firefighter Blastoise to the world.

That's right, a new piece of Holowear has been added to the game and is now available to purchase; technically called 'Firefighter Style', the outfit can be yours (well, Blastoise's) for 1,200 gems. It arrives alongside some additional new fashion items, also available to purchase in the in-game store.

Of course, diehard Pokémon fans will no doubt remember the Squirtle Squad, a cheeky but wonderful group of firefighting Squirtle that caused havoc in the early episodes of the official Pokémon anime. The Squirtle Squad's fearless leader would have had to have grown up one day, so we're going to go ahead and pretend that Ash's Squirtle and Unite's Blastoise are one and the same.

Pokémon Unite's been pretty busy since its initial launch on Switch, with the game now being available on mobile and adding various Pokémon like Sylveon, Mamoswine and Blastoise, of course.
