The Switch eShop continues to pick up steam, with July seeing a noticeable ramping up in the number of download releases. There have been some busy weeks and plenty of interesting titles, so we're back with our series to sort the wheat from the chaff with our Nintendo Life eShop Selects awards for July.
This month we've got six games to showcase, three that receive a Nintendo Life eShop Select badge and another three excellent runners up. One of our Selects winner doesn't even have a written review on the site quite yet, but based on our time with it to date we believe it's worth including for this month's awards.
So, here we go.
Honourable Mentions:
The Nintendo Life eShop Selects WINNERS - July 2017
Have you downloaded any of these through July, or are some still on your wishlist? Let us know in the comments.

Overcooked has been out a day and a top game....but I'd agree
Nothing of interest for me.
Boost Beast is criminally underated. Give it a try, it's good!
Bulboy is one really strange game. I'd recommend it to all point and click fans even though the puzzles are fairly simple. Even for those who are not a fan of the genre though I'd still recommend checking it out, if just to see how crazy the animation and story is.
I agree with the three selected.
@BezBot because it's been out for a while on other consoles. Not like it is completely new
Been playing Overcooked, hilarious opening and fun so far, but I do think I'll get the best out of it when my Nephew and Niece come round for some local co-op.
Really a meh month. The REAL winner is truly Implosion, which really blow my mind. A 7/10 this is not. For the low price, amount of content and production value of such a small title, this is closer to a 8.5 or 9
Played Overcooked with my wife.
It is Hilarious!
It is exactly what you need from a game. Fun. Lot's of it.
Best e-shop title thus far. Still gotta try that Death Squared.
Waiting SO MUCH for Golf Story, Wargroove and Stardew Valley.
So many good indies and retails and 1st party games and FIFA and WWE and... phew.
I think I might have a bigger Switch library in a year than I had on Wii U all through it's lifecycle.
In the first few months I would buy most games but I'm not interested in any of these. Either it's a poor month or I can afford to be more selective as the library expands.
I'm liking Implosion. The eshop has too few solo focused games :/
@OorWullie If it's easy, doesn't that defeat most of the point of playing as a game? On the fence about it. Looks beauuutiful, but seems boring if the puzzles aren't somewhat of a challenge.
@Biff_ARMStrong Can you elaborate? Looks reallly cute but the mechanics didn't grab me as very special, per the little I saw in the trailer.
I choose Overcooked Special Edition (So, basically Switch version got better version than ps4/xbox1 version ??)
Would be better if Overcooked Special Edition released on Switch Cartridge.
If ps4/xbox1 got physical release, Switch must have too and my ps4 betrayal will be perfect, hehehehe....
Meh nothing for me. save my money and buy Chinese food instead.
@Dang69 It's more that the solutions are fairly logical rather than just being easy. Many of these style of games in the past the solutions were far too difficult and didn't make sense. You ended up just clicking on everything in the hope that it worked, removing any feeling of satisfaction when it did. I've no idea how much further I've got to go,I reckon I'm about half way through. I've yet to feel bored with it though. The animation and the downright craziness of it all keeps the boredom away I feel.
Picked up Bulb Boy, but I'm not too far in
Just keep in mind that if you have noone to play with overcooked sucks. You want to play it with people, not alone.
@Timppis
Glad to hear that you and your Wife enjoyed Overcook, I was planning on getting the game for my Wife as well.
@Rika_Yoshitake Sad but true #Lonely
De Mambo rocks, but it's hard to find people to play with.. it's not a game for all audiences i believe.
Downloaded Overcooked but I'm so crap at it! XD when Stardew arrives they will all bow to it!
The title of this article "eShop Selects" made me think it was announcing either a sale or physical retail releases of eShop games like the Wii U got.
@WillTheLion I thought the same thing.
@bezerker99 Glad I wasn't the only one.
