Publisher Piko Interactive is building up a solid reputation for keeping old formats alive with new releases, and has just announced its next wave of titles.
Of interest to Nintendo fans will be Iron Commando and Legend on the SNES, and Snakky on the NES. Iron Commando was only ever released on the Super Famicom and this represents its official western debut. Legend did get a western release back in the day, but this reprint edition is very welcome. Both of these titles are side-scrolling fighters created by French studio Arcade Zone and are well worth a look, especially at the very reasonable $45 asking price.
Also up for grabs are three Sega Genesis games - Sumo Slam, Smart Mouse and Generals of the Yang Family - as well as an Atari Jaguar title called Custodian.
Pre-orders are open now, with titles expected in December 2016 or January 2017, depending on demand.

If a game is named Iron Commando then I feel obligated to play it.
They're not really releasing "new" games, are they? They're just re-releasing some rare stuff.
I was expecting this to be an announcement of upcoming games for the 3DS and Wii U VC and got hyped. My bad.
@Mommar Iron Commando is "new" to anyone who didn't collect Super Famicom stuff back in the day.
Legend and Iron Commando look pretty cool. I'll keep an eye on these.
Iron Commando is a reskin of the Punisher arcade game from Capcom. The animations and the game system are very similar. I don't know why the Genesis got a port or the Punisher arcade game but the Snes version had to drop the licence.
@roy130390 I thought that too. Hopefully Sega and others start to release their games for the systems again, or some really good collections. I'm looking forward to Atari Flashback Classics Vol 1 and Vol 2 for PS4, but I really hope that nintendo's next console's virtual arcade gets back the Masters, Genesis, Turbografx and other systems again, and they continue growing.
Good to see a company like this keeping old systems going however that new jaguar game looks like it was made for the amiga ! No disrespect as the jaguar doesn't exactly have the best known games library but for $75 I would probably want something a bit better than that . It does look fun tbh but that seems like an insane price for what your getting .
@bitleman It was clearly inspired by Capcom's games but it wasn't a reskin as such. The developer Arcade Zone was founded by Carlo Perconti and Lyes Belaidouni, who went on to create Toka which was famed for its "inspired" games. Burning Road on the PlayStation is basically a Daytona USA clone, for example.

I really wish my SNES didn't quit on me back in the day... I guess I'll invest in a Retron one of these days...
I remember reading GamePro's review of Legend when they gave it a 5.0 (out of 5) for graphics and then said the rest of the game was terrible. And I agree. Not a big beat-em-up fan but that game feels very unresponsive. Amazed the original game sells for so much now.
Wow the comment section is rough today. What Piko is doing is amazing. Who else is doing this with the same quality?
@samuelvictor I was excited for the Jaguar too but I started losing faith long before the release. It was my first sight of the giant telephone style controller where my doubts set in.
I will wait for the ROM dumps
These look pretty cool, especially Legend. I do like the fact that you can ride a motorcycle and other things in Iron Commando. They'll make a fine and rare addition to my SNES collection.
ORDERED!
Yeeeeeees!
yep heard about these a year ago, they do good business i can recommend them
