It may seem peculiar to those of us that savour the E3 bubble, but it's not as big a deal globally as some may think. Nintendo's Japanese homeland is an example - there's an awareness of E3, but probably not the laser focus that's applied in the West.
For those that found it all a bit much to follow, or have lost track of all the events that took place, the following two videos combine to give a rather handy 10 minute summary. The first is all about the Nintendo World Championships, and the second is a presentation around E3 in general by Reggie Fils-Aime.
Check them out and let us know what you think.

The games they make are fun.
I want to get the smash bros dlc very badly, but it's too overpriced!
Reggie's SSB game isn't in there is it? Not b/c of Reggie, but that other guy was such a jerk. (oh no, they did show it, Reggie's 1 KO)
And Japan may not care about E3, but I imagine they would care about a videogame tournament. Maybe they'll even like miniwheat? Somebody has to. Guess that's why the NWC vid is twice as long as all of E3 put together.
The NDE for E3 isn't so bad when it's whittled down to 30 seconds.

Don't care what anyone says I think Nintendo had a great E3 😀 okay the digital event wasn't the greatest but the NWC and once again the treehouse were both amazing 😀
@Spectra_Twilight The Japanese version of the full Digital Event had both it and Xenoblade X. Nintendo didn't bother editing those out. That's how lazy they were.
The only new things I can see the Japanese being interested in from e3 is the animal crossing amiibo game ,Ryu and the heihachi costume.

Cue a petition to stop you from asking him to stop advertising his petitions.
Petitionception.
@McoobabWATP you forgot SMT x FE. That's litetally the most Japense thing ever. It's more Japanese than Japan itself
@ottospooky oh yeah I've no idea how i forgot that one lol that'll do huge over there.itll probably outdo splatoons opening week.
@IceClimbers
Since the Peanuts crew have already joined us in the comment section, in the great words of Charlie Brown: "Good grief."
@KickButt_Gaming It seemed like a fair price point to me. It's not like its a 20 dollar cod map pack.
Really a shame that Ryu got leaked beforehand. NWC was pretty great. Treehouse was largely very good, as well and undid a lot of the despair that came Digital Event with it's lack of anything totally new and noteworthy for Wii U and from the clumsy reveals of particular 3DS games and got me psyched for the new Star Fox.
Seriously, that Federation Force game seems pretty good once you get past the shock. The Zelda game looks genuinely fun as well.
And the muppets were cool.
The problem is the damage is done and it will take a big effort to get excitement for Wii U going again. I actually think a price drop right now might send an unfortunate message! Better to regain some credibility first through a solid impressive Nintendo Direct focused on something awesome for Wii U in 2016. Spill all the rest of the Wii U beans before NX.
@ottospooky @mcoobabWATP SMT x FE I just can't watch for more than 10 seconds before I just blank. It has this strong moral message beaten into your brain for the whole thing: Mostly naked pop music performances and Fire Emblem cosplay give you POWER! Most people don't matter and are just color blobs. Fashion malls are dungeons! I'm sure somewhere that will play. I can't make it work in my brain.
I wonder if Nintendo's alleged fight over that game had to do with how insanely local it's draw was going to be. They knew it wouldn't fly with Western Audiences. Really too bad as Fire Emblem has really been growing its western audience.
The Nintendo World Championships was brilliant!
Let's hope it returns next year with more qualification events.
Ryu and 1 stage is $8 for both consoles.. smash u and 3ds are $90, you get 49 characters, dozens of stages, and these characters all have custom moves.
How can they justify charging almost 10% of two copies of the game for a lone character and one stage?
If you buy all the dlc available bundled, you've just about bought smash 3ds again, but with 1% of it's content!
@khaosklub Anyone who spent the cash buying both versions probably won't freak over eight dollars. It's not like the dlc is needed to play the game. Don't care for Ryu? Dont buy the dlc.
@Superryanworld
Yeah, I guess EA, I mean nintendo can start extorting street fighter fans for however much they want
