Since its initial launch, Nintendo's amiibo line has received a mixed reception from fans. With issues ranging from limited to allegedly discontinued stock and high sales prices for online figurines - and even ones with manufacturing defects - the whole saga has had positives and negatives..
With this in consideration, Nintendo is now reportedly giving Club Nintendo members in the US the opportunity to voice their opinions about the in-demand figurines via an online survey.
The survey is reportedly available to select Club Nintendo members, and upon completion will award participants with 10 coins. The survey itself takes roughly 10 minutes to complete, and will end on 11th January.
Given the nature of some amiibo problems since launch, we can only hope Nintendo gives members outside of America the opportunity to fill out a similar survey, so they can directly illustrate their own concerns. Naturally the surveys are a chance to share positive experiences and opinions on the toy range, too.
Let us know in the comments if you'd like to see a survey about Nintendo's amiibo line for your region, or even if you've already had the chance to share your thoughts with them.
Thanks to Ryan Millar for the tip!

i got one of those!
@justlink Insider info! Would be interesting to see what they ask about availability if you have the time to post.
I got a survey, it didn't ask anything about what I thought about amiibo availability, it just asked me what I liked and disliked about using my amiibo with the games. So I didn't get to say anything about stock concerns.
I didn't get it. I wish amiibo came with Club Nintendo codes. If they did, I would already be at Platinum. XD
I'd love to see street pass plaza updated to include amiibo support.
Well look at that! I wasn't selected again >
I don't know why Nintendo is so afraid of me D:
Especially since I bought 12 of them :/
Back when Smash come out there was a similar survey in Europe, most of the questions were of course for smash, but the last part of the survey was only about amiibo.
I should totally change my answers if I could do it again now, back then I said I was planning to buy less than 5 amiibo (if any) in the upcoming months, less than a month after the survey I had already surpassed that 5 amiibo limit >__>;;;
there was nothing about availablility. It mostly asked how many i have and what games i used them on and if i was satisfied with how they are used and how many more i plan to get
Yeah I too got one of these surveys last month,around the amiibo release...
Just noticed the amiibos in the picture have more subtle "support" plastic in place. Clear plastic and hard to notice. The ones that were released had nasty colours and were much larger. Obviously the old ones were too fragile, but I do wish they kept the clear plastic as there's no reason for weird coloured lumps at the bottom of most of the statues.
I can't even log into CN to check if I got one.
No survey on my end but I do have the feeling I answer a similar amiibo survey at the end of the Super Smash Bros for Wii U survey 2 months ago.
I am registered to the UK Club Nintendo though it's no use as I don't live in UK, can't even take part of the Winter Bonus promotion since it seems to require a Club Nintendo Points Card that my 3DS did not come with.
Doubt I will get any of the surveys either, it's still telling me I only have a "temporary account" and does not connect my Wii U to Club Nintendo.
I got an amiibo survey last month. The omission of asking about availability was probably on purpose I would guess. Haha.
How about you can swap your amiibo in any time there is a Mii used in a game - like let me us Samus in Wii Party U
I have two accounts (1 Platinum, 1 gold....don't ask!, next year I'm looking to have only 1), and I did not get selected to voice my opinion. I would love to tell Nintendo how disappointed I am with the Amiibos. The stock is the most obvious complaint but the lack of game content at the moment is also an issue.
So, unlike every other survey that lets you type in what you think, this one is only multiple choice? Would not have mattered what they asked. I simply would have stated over and over again, stock issues suck fierce! Four words, easy to read and see.
See, the US DOES get exclusive stuff
I think I answered one of those. There really needs to be some way you can talk about the stock issues. Also looking at that pic makes me want to break a display case so I can get a Marth. ...I'll pay for him!
I hope these survey's will make Nintendo solve the Amiibo stock issues,cause buying the figures for a higher price than 15 dollars?You can't keep letting that happen big N.
Can't log in to check right now, but here are some obvious questions I'd like to see:
1. Should there be enough of each amiibo for everyone who wants one can get one, or only enough for the scalpers to sell on eBay?
2. Should select amiibo models be discontinued after the first shipment or should we continue to make more of each for a while longer?
3. Should only enough amiibo be made so that they all sell out during pre-orders or should enough stock be made so some can be on store shelves?
4. Should you be able to buy all different amiibo in 1 store or online retailer or would you like to be forced to travel to 3 or more stores or websites?
I did the survey and said they should be as a form of DLC as good value as say the MK8 DLC or NSLU. (As it stands the current value is worse than even some of Capcom's absolute worst like Streetfighter X Tekken).
I got one almost a month ago. I think there were a couple questions where you could type a free form answer, so I took that opportunity to discuss amiibo availability, eve if they didn't ask about it. I did that on the Smash survey as well though in that one I got to express my concerns about the gamecube adapter as well.
I think the US stock problem is related to just how physically big America is compared with the other countries of the world. It's normal to expect more delays than would transport inside the UK or Japan
I did not get it, but I got one months ago. May be the same one that is being sent to other CN members this time.
With that said, I want my WFT and Little Mac amiibo at a reasonable price!
I got it and made sure to mention in the area where it asked what I didn't like about how they needed to produce a lot more figures of the harder to find characters and how we didn't need a million Princess Peaches clogging the shelves like they currently are.
@Tsuzura
I didn't get one either.
Really, I think Nintendo might only be sending these special things to the target market, not the old Core.
They should be doing two mailings - one to the target market about the experience and what they want to see, and a second to the Core regarding issues, possibilities, purchase decisions, etc. After all, the Core are the Gatekeepers, now.
I didn't get one.
I didn't get the survey either. I have both Smash games registered and I'm Platinum. Wonder who these things are getting sent out to?
@Captain_Gonru - You saw one? Did Elvis beat you to it
If i makes you feel any better Skylanders Kaos traps are going for $30 on eBay. I saw 1 for only $20 but they wanted $21 shipping. My kids birthday is next week so it's keeping me busy. He got S:TT for Christmas but doesn't want to play it w/o that key. On the bright side I feel like Activison will make more. I hope.
@JasonAnArgoNOT64 Ehhh. I've never seen stock issues like this before for any product. Even the original Wii was fairly easy to get in its first week, despite selling out everywhere. As long as you got to the store in the morning, you could always get one. I go to stores that sell Amiibos maybe 3 times a week, and there are plenty I've never seen.
I got the survey. Now I have Gold Status!
@gspro15198 I wouldn't be surprised to see something amiibo being released for the plaza. There are those unknown accomplishments 55-64 that no-one in the world has got yet... I'm hoping anyway. If not, what the hell are they then?
Thank you, nintendo life, for pointing this out. I not only had this survey to complete, but also a few product registration surveys that I had completely forgotten about...
@potatuhchips
You must be more clever, like the sly ninja... or fox. You can work in a lot of criticism into separate places with clever segues.
Greeeeat, another selective round of emails I won't get picked for. ^_^
I got the survey, it was not a email, just a survey.
But I already made Platinun
I'm surprised I didn't get the survey, as I've received several unique and exclusive surveys in the past, as well as the early Smash and Tomodachi demos. Maybe they want me to actually spend my massive number of coins.
Which I would gladly do if there was anything in there worth spending them on.
Oh well.
I got one of those and I gave them a piece of my mind!!!! Well, I wasn't rude but rather honest about the frustration from low/non-existent stock.
Didn't get one. I would definitely say something about how they're used in game, that aspect of the concept is pretty lacking.
If this was happening in the UK and they sent me one of these instead of a new 3DS one boy would they get a taste of rage...
I happened to receive one, and I raved about stock issues and functionality.
I got the survey and i haven't bought or used any amiibo nor do i plan to. I just don't think there is a whole lot of use for them outside smash bros.
I got one! Although I haven't bought any Amiibo figures, I said I planned too.
@rjejr Stop! I'm peeing my pants.... You had me at "Should..." ROFLMAO! No seriously. This was just as bad as when they did NFC toys for Pokemon Rumble... Fail. Not sure if I'll jump in on this now... I WAS a big proponent (go ahead, check my posts), but now, I just don't wanna get ripped off for what are essentially collectibles (seeing as they have no idea of going big with this, if they did, more than a couple dozen scalpers and serious collectors wouldn't be the only ones with a set). we all know Nintendo, once gone, gone forever. I'm waiting for my holiday survey to show...
@iLiveonSaturn I'll be honest, Nintendo thinks just the way you do as well. Why cut off something if you plan on using it in future products? I can almost guarantee that outside of Their "native" game titles, most of these Amiibo will be useless. Pretty, too.
No Survey for me
Platinum member here who got the Smash demo codes, but no Amiibo survey. If I got it I would say I like the figures, would love to see them do more with the concept, especially at the system/OS level (as opposed to specific games) and with the New 3DS and the step counter (kind of like I understand they did with recent Pokémon entries to hatch eggs).
Interestingly, I just hopped over to the Club Nintendo site to make sure I didn't get it yet, and it's unavailable because of maintenance, which has never happened to me before. Probably nothing, but... WHAT IF IT IS SOMETHING.
@Platypus101 - We actually have 1 of the Rumble toys - I think it's Zekrom but don't quote me. We go it it free when we bought the download code for the game in Gamestop. Then when we tried to play the game the tv screen went black every 3-5 seconds. Then it started happening all the time. Then there were some other issues so we sent the Wii U in to Nintndo for repair - we'd only had it a couple of weeks, we basically bought it for Pikmin 3 and PRU. When it came back minus all of our saves points we never played the game again. It was worthless anyway, even w/ the screen going black every few seconds my kids still finished it in about 3 hours.
OK, completely lost my point.
I got the survey. The only thing of note that I said was they should make amiibo cards for people who don't want to spend $12 on a figurine.
these last months were the best of my life...when I found Marth in Target... I just hugged him, fell to the ground, and started weeping uncontrollably... that is until a 37 year old snatched it from me....
I got one of these but it was simply asking about in-game features and my opinions. Sadly I wasn't able to express stock issues and exclusive amiibo and stuff.
@iLiveonSaturn
That's the worst thing about amiibo, and I put it into my survey.
I got one of these!
I have Platinum, had Platinum last year, registered both Smash Bros, own five amiibos (although there's no proof unless they track my SSBB info), and am drowning in surveys that expire in two weeks.
I did not get a survey...
@Captain_Gonru - Don't waste your time on Pokemon Rumble U. It's not broken or even bad just really short and repetitive. The original Wiiware game was 10x better. And I know my kids like the 3DS version a whole lot better as well though I never played that one myself.
Playing "find the amiibo" is better. Sometimes I just like to click thru them on Amazon to see how much the scalpers are charging for them

Link is $22 and Fox $25, got them both retail at TRU w/ a free $10 Skylander during a B2G1 free sale awhile back. Now isn't this fun
Gamestop is a better way to discern the impossible to get ones though, just see what they don't sell online, usually at the end:
http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-Amiibo,28zu0
Been a long day, bedtime. Happy shopping. What's the equivalent of "window shopping" online? "web browsing" seems a bit too all-encompassing and "web shopping" sounds more like buying than just looking.
I took the survey earlier today. Said it'd be great if there was a little game like the Disney Infinity Toy Box to use the Amiibos with.
@Obito_Sigma it's okay, I've been platinum
at least four years straight, done all my surveys in a decent timeframe after getting them, gave actual input on games, even doing the optional comments bit, and I didn't get the smash 3ds demo.. I did get this survey however.
I've got platinum 7 years in a row and am well on my way to number 8. I hope I get the survey, but the club nintendo site is broken on 3ds and I'm away from the computer atm.
I also got 11 amiibos (none of the "rare" ones though), but haven't bought Smash Bros yet, although it's on my wishlist.
Has anyone recieved an Amiibo survey who hasn't purchased or registerd Smash Bros yet?
@StarDust4Ever I received an Amiibo survey even though I haven't registered my copy of Super Smash Bros for Wii U (I don't own it for the 3DS).
I got the survey and was honest, i said that i really love the quality of these figures and their functionality, but its down right disrespectful how they are going about under shipping the figures it is not fair to fans of the certain franchises. I wish it was more like skylanders and infinity figures, never have a issue finding the ones i want. Sad... but true...
Got it, made a good response. I gotta get brownie points if they make the ambassador New 3ds in NA
