Metroid Dread Where To Go After You Get The Wide Beam
Image: Nintendo Life

So, now you've got the Wide Beam from Dairon and you've jumped on the shuttle and headed back to Cataris. Our next step is to use our brand new ability to blow open a couple of doors, head into the area's E.M.M.I. zone, take down the Control Unit, kill ourselves a green E.M.M.I. and finally get our hands on the Morph Ball ability. Easy!

This sequence of events is about as straightforward as things get in Metroid Dread, arriving back on Cataris you only need to quickly scan your map to see the Wide Beam doors we need to aim for in order to take us where we want to be going.

Take a look at the maps and screenshots below in order to better judge the route we've taken to get to the Control Unit required and nab the Omega Cannon to do some E.M.M.I. killing.

Once you've got the Omega Cannon you can strut on out the door and get ready to face the area's robotic bad guy, get yourself a nice long run of space and let your foe come to you, then blast its head armour off so you can get a shot at its core, shutting it down permanently and grabbing your Morph Ball ability. Well done!

Need help with where to go once you've acquired the Morph Ball Ability? We've got a guide for that!
