Castlevania Dominus Collection (Switch eShop)
£15.99 (-20%)
Castlevania Dominus Collection is quite possibly the best compilation that Konami and M2 have produced to date. It presents three exceptional DS games that easily stand the test of time and provide just as much enjoyment now as they did back in the 2000s.
Not only that, but the impossible has seemingly been achieved with the remarkable addition of Haunted Castle Revisited. Included as a fun little bonus, this revamped take on a reviled arcade curio is fantastic, and while it can't compete with the very best 'classic' games in the franchise, it's the closest we've gotten to a brand new Castlevania in years. An exquisite package.

Catherine: Full Body (Switch)
£8.99 (-80%)
Catherine: Full Body is a fantastic revamp of a bonafide cult classic. With an excellent new character and several new endings slickly inserted into an already highly entertaining narrative – not to mention a slew of fun new modes – this is the definitive version of an outstanding game. If you've never played Catherine before then you're in for an absolute treat, and if you have, we'd say there's enough new content here to make it worth diving in all over again.
Contra Anniversary Collection (Switch eShop)
£6.39 (-60%)
While it’s a shame that there are fewer games here than in other Konami collections – we’d have loved to have seen NES title Contra Force or the now-extinct WiiWare title Contra ReBirth – the ones included in the Contra Anniversary Collection are universally brilliant. The 8-bit and 16-bit Contra games are among the finest examples of the run ‘n gun genre, and to have almost all of them included in a single release and emulated flawlessly is an absolute treat. Whether you’re a fan of the series or a curious onlooker who’s always wanted to see what the fuss was all about, this is essential.
Core Keeper (Switch)
£10.71 (-33%)
Core Keeper is a wonderfully engaging and mysterious survival sandbox that is tough to put down once it gets its hooks in you.
An expertly judged progression curve, tons of secrets and unlockables, and excellent presentation all come together to make this one an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a great new survival game. If you’ve had your fill of stalwarts like Minecraft or Terraria and are looking for the next great game to scratch that itch, look no further.
Crimzon Clover - World EXplosion (Switch eShop)
£10.79 (-40%)
While Crimzon Clover does owe a tremendous debt to many arcade shooters through the 1990s and 2000s, it's clear that Yotsubane has a great love and understanding of them. It’s not only a homage (look at the default high score table for some familiar initials) but also brings some mechanical brilliance that makes it stand out against most of its doujin shoot-em-up peers, and enough to hang with the genre greats.
It’s flashy, it’s exciting, it’s addictive, and it’s an essential purchase for genre fans.
Cuphead (Switch eShop)
£11.89 (-30%)
Cuphead was an absolute masterpiece when it originally launched on Xbox One and nothing has been sacrificed in its move to the Switch.
A run-and-gun boss battler dressed up like a 1930s Fleischer or Disney animated short, it’s the same visually jaw-dropping, aurally delightful, knuckle-whiteningly difficult game it was on Microsoft’s console and the Switch’s library is all the better for its presence. Its focus on intense boss battles won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but as long as you know what you’re getting yourself into we can’t recommend it enough. Just look at it!
And the Delicious Last Course (also on sale for £5.43) is the icing on the cake, too.
Dark Souls: Remastered (Switch)
£17.49 (-50%)
Dark Souls: Remastered is a faithful remaster of a touchstone in video game design that improves overall performance of the original release while preserving all of the character traits that made it such a memorable experience. While it’s no less forgiving — and its menus are a little fiddly — this slick Nintendo Switch iteration offers an excellent way to experience Lordran’s ultra-challenging odyssey in true handheld form.
Plus, there's a Solaire of Astora amiibo. Praise the Sun, indeed.
Dave The Diver (Switch eShop)
£11.04 (-35%)
In 2023, a year dominated by titanic, big-budget releases like Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Wonder, Dave The Diver stepped up to the plate and knocked the ball clear of the park with a heaving swing.
Its charming animations and writing supplement a mechanically dense experience that never stops dangling a new carrot to chase. It rivals Mario Wonder's all-out density and charm while doing something almost completely new. You owe it to yourself to pick up this outstandingly funny, enthralling, and weird gem.
Death's Door (Switch eShop)
£4.49 (-75%)
Death's Door is a modern classic, utilising old gameplay ideas in a new setting to make for a short and sweet experience you won’t want to miss. The snappy combat, rewarding exploration, and relaxing music will stick with you once you've finished, and while it may not have anything 'new' to offer, Death’s Door is so high quality that you’ll hardly have time to think about its lack of innovation.
We’d give this one a very high recommendation, especially to any fans of Zelda or Soulslike games — Acid Nerve has crafted an experience that’s absolutely worth your time and money.
Detention (Switch eShop)
£2.84 (-70%)
Detention is another horror classic that deserves a place on your Switch. Its story has an important message as it introduces themes through the eyes of a child that only escalate the horror.
Through a terrifying atmosphere, chilling ghouls, and a soundtrack that will sink its teeth into you, Detention is a suitably horrifying title that needs to be experienced firsthand.
Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition (Switch eShop)
£7.99 (-50%)
Even so many years after its 2005 debut, Devil May Cry 3 remains one of the very best action games ever made. It may have aged in places, but that turbo-charged, combo-heavy action feels as fresh today as it did back in the mid-noughties.
The new Freestyle mode – which lets players swap combat styles on the fly at any point during the action – is a genuinely excellent addition to the package, and the ability to play Bloody Palace in local co-op is the cherry on top of a Switch port that should appeal to anyone interested in sampling the devilish delights of this all-time classic.
Dicefolk (Switch eShop)
£8.76 (-35%)
An attractive art style, strong combat system, and meaningful player choices make Dicefolk a brilliant addition to the library, as it manages to feel fresh without getting too far away from the core ideas that make these sorts of games so addictive and popular.
Dicefolk is a good entry point to the genre, in fact; approachable without being patronising and it’s tons of fun once you get a grasp of its various quirks.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (Switch eShop)
£10.79 (-70%)
Disco Elysium's narrative and dialogue, which was already wonderfully compelling in the base game, was given a massive boost thanks to the excellent voice acting introduced for the Final Cut.
The gameplay features a host of branching paths for you to explore, and while the slow, methodical approach may turn a few people off, this is nevertheless one of the most well-told stories in any medium from the last few years.
The performance issues at the time of our review slightly took the shine off things, but even with them present, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was and is a triumph and stands as one of the best RPGs available on Switch.
Dragon Ball FighterZ (Switch)
£7.99 (-84%)
Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Switch is, simply put, one of the best fighting games we've seen on the system. Arc System Works went the extra mile in capturing the essence of the source material and distilled it into an incredible brawler that has lost nothing in the transition to Nintendo's hybrid console.
The stunning visuals, intense action, and easy-to-master controls make FighterZ a game all fans of the genre should have in their library. If you only play this kind of game casually, it remains a must-own.
Everhood (Switch eShop)
£6.74 (-50%)
Everhood is one of the most memorable games we’ve played in recent years. A mad mix of RPG, rhythm action, kart racing and bullet-hell shmup, its utterly bonkers plot and weird cast of characters is reason enough to check it out, but the instantly accessible rhythmic combat will keep you hooked from the very first battle to the epic final boss encounter.
Some may be put off by the minimal visual design and deliberately vague sequence of events, but for those after something a bit different, Everhood delivers originality and unique gameplay in spades and absolutely deserves a place in your Switch library.
Fight'N Rage (Switch eShop)
£13.49 (-25%)
Who says the beat 'em up is dead? Fight’N Rage is one of the must-own action games on Nintendo’s console. Its surprisingly deep and satisfyingly weighty combat engine combined with three strong and varied player characters and a host of cleverly-designed enemies elevate it above the usual button-mashing experience perhaps expected of entries in this genre. It’s got an excellent arcade mode that branches off in various directions as you make your way to the final boss battle, as well as a ton of unlockable modes and extras to keep you coming back for more. Whether you’re a learned fan of old-school beat ’em ups or you just like pummelling the life out of mutant punk pussycats and monkeys dressed as Bruce Lee, you owe it to yourself to experience what Sebastian Garcia has created here; it’s easily one of the best beat’em ups we’ve played.
Forager (Switch eShop)
£6.29 (-65%)
Every now and then, a game comes along that captures our hearts and reminds us why we love the medium in the first place. Forager features wonderfully designed crafting mechanics, addictive progression systems and more charm than you can possibly handle. Although it has very minor drawbacks, there's enough good stuff present here for us to confidently recommend adding Forager to your collection.
Full Metal Furies (Switch eShop)
£2.99 (-80%)
Full Metal Furies is an impressive fusion of genres from Cellar Door Games, the makers of Rogue Legacy. A beat ‘em up brawler at heart, we wish more developers would invest such considerable effort into this sort of puzzle design in action games, and coupling that with the deep RPG systems, punchy co-op gameplay, and memorable writing makes for an experience that no Switch owner will want to be without. We can’t recommend this release enough; put in the time to explore the different tactics required with each character and you’ll find a much deeper, more replayable experience than a typical brawler.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (Switch eShop)
£12.49 (-50%)
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was one of the best games on Nintendo DS. Now it is one of the best games on Nintendo Switch. If you're a fan of Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, AI: The Somnium Files, or just of having a good dang time with a brilliant story and stunning art, then why are you still here? Go and get the game. Now. Go!!!!
Golf Story (Switch eShop)
£2.29 (-83%)
Golf Story is a Switch exclusive RPG that borrows liberally from Mario Golf on the Game Boy Color. It's absolutely bonkers and you should be prepared to put your golf skills to use in a variety of contexts, including feeding hungry alligators and knocking things off high surfaces, plus winning the occasional round of pitch 'n' putt.
With a hilarious script and a wide variety of activities, it remains fresh throughout and will have you coming back for many hours in the Story mode alone; the multiplayer offers decent replayability, too. Golf Story is for anyone looking for something a little different; there’s a whole lot to love here, and if you’re a fan of RPGs or golf games, this is a must buy.

ghost trick woooooooooooo!
Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair is robbery at £2.50. Easily my favourite Switch era 2D platformer.
Nice, when I have the time I'll check if there are some games among these that I'm interested in and still missing from my Deku Deals wishlist (if I don't already have them of course) - regardless, hope those going for any of these will enjoy them!
Portal: Companion Collection is an absolute MARVEL. What an indredible experience (I recommend playing both games together, the first one is almost like a prologue). At that price is a no brainer.
but but, I was told Nintedo games never go on sale
Finally TTYD at a reasonable price... I was kind of hoping to find it 2nd hand physically, but I might just cave in and buy it now...
Or how about pick up none of them because NIntendo is about take all our money on June 5th?
Play Gris!
Play Portal!
And play Dungeons of Dreadrock!
The best 8/10 I‘ve played in a long time.
Are we getting this sale in the states? I want to get Yooka Laylee
I am lucky enough to have played the vast majority of these. Just Card Shark, the Trails game, Volgar II on my wishlist get to download.....maybe it's time!
I wish these lists were more curated, and that they also had the prices in Euros since the article mentions Europe and Europe isn't just the UK.
@the_beaver Incredible price for two phenomenal games. Timeless classics
Got a code for Octopath Traveler cheap from Amazon. It's probably a bit too slow paced for my tastes, but the stories seem good and it's got some stunning environments. I'm getting used to it.
I wish it was this easy to scroll through the eshop itself
Unicorn Overlord 50% off. New historical low
There are only a couple of 9/10 games per year, at best.
You're way too lenient with your points.
I got FEZ, it doesn't go on sale very often and is at its lowest price ever
You also forgot to add RISE: Race The Future and IRONFALL Invasion on your list 🥴
For anyone tempted by the amazing port of Ace Combat 7, the physical version is currently on sale on The Game Collection for £25.
If you love great stories, I heartily recommend A Night in the Woods and also The Walking Dead.
Wondersong is a great game as well!
Golf Story is an absolute steal at that price.
I got a SHORT HIKE (not yet played) and VALIANT HEARTS COMING HOME in this sale! @:~)
I got Fez and Tunic.
… yes I have been playing Animal well this winter 😜
With the imminent release of the Switch 2, could this very extensive eShop sale be a bit of a last hurrah for the original console and the focus might, er…switch to the successor?
Now I see Skyward Sword HD got in the list. That's definitely a game that's worth picking up and the controls got so much better in the Switch version.
