Already made a topic for peripherals so wanted to call this part 2 instead of something original just because part 2 sounds cool to me lol. Anyway, on topic now that i know most of you own a lot of these things, regarding the amount of money for all these wheels, motion plus, nunchuks, and everything else...how do you feel the wii's excessive number of peripherals are affecting you financially?(The main question here, the following is just my views)
My Views I ask this because with other consoles (currently) its just buy a controller for 40 or 50 bucks and your done, no more money needed. With wii however, its buy this and buy that to play this and play that....no one controller to play everything and YA its really making my wallet empty and im starting to realize that these things are really adding up in dollars now. I actually think all the peripherals i have (including vc controllers) have added up to at least 3/4 the price i bought the actual console for
Well xbox charges for xbox live and for wireless adapter. Plus there's a fair amount of peripheral for the other consoles as well.
Most wii accessories needed come with the the games that you'd need them for. The wheel doesn't seem all that necessary to me. I got my 2nd wii remote with wii play as well but got it off an amazon seller for $30 which I was happy about. Classic controller isn't too badly priced and its never required except for some VC games. Motionplus isn't too bad at $20 and comes with most of the games that really take advantage of it. Except for tiger woods golf the bundles are the same price as other wii games. The nunchuk really should come with every wii remote though. Still I found a decent priced nyko pack with classic controller and nunchuk for $20.
It can really drain your wallet though if you go too crazy with it and buy all the crap that's out there that doesn't really do much. You know like those tennis rackets and such that are just for looks. Or if you go ahead and buy 4 full sets of controllers for each attachment which is fine if you have the money but probably better to have friends bring their controllers over if you're gonna play 4 player games.
second Wiimote and Nunchuk Classic Controller component cable battery packs with charger SD Card Balance Board Nerf Switch Shot
IMO only the last two really count as extra peripherials (the rest is stuff you'd probably get for the system even if it didn't have tons of peripherials) and the Balance Board came with a game so IMO it falls into a group with guitars and such. The Switch Shot is dual purpose and can be used to shoot nerf darts at empty bottles when it's not being used on the Wii.
Of course my 360 only got an extra controller that I bought for my PC years before (a wired one, saves me the hassle of dealing with batteries, the wireless one that came with the system is still in the box) and an HDMI cable but other people list gigantic numbers of expensive peripherials for theirs so I guess you can waste just as much on those with a 360 if you really want to.
